 DAILY MEDITATION:  Psalm 49:8-9

Psalm 49:8-9

"---- Mine, no ransom avails for one's life, there is no redeeming price one can give to God for it.  For redeeming one's life demands too high a price."

"My Beloved, I know that my life is precious in Your sight because You have given it to me.  My sins cast me out of Your Presence for all eternity and I did not have the means to redeem what I had lost.  it was beyond my capacity - it was impossible.  But You could do it.  It would cost You dearly - it demanded the ultimate price My Lord but You paid it for love of me and now I have hope of heaven and eternity with You. Thank You my Lord and my God."

DAILY MASS READINGS:  2 Samuel 18:9-10, 14, 24-25, 30-19:3,
                                   Psalm 86:1-6, Mark 5:21-43

2 Samuel 18:9-10, 14, 24-25, 30-19:3

My Beloved just as David mourned and lamented over his sinful, deceitful and treacherous son Absalom who plotted to kill him and seize his father's throne, so does our Abba Father grieve over His sinful children.  He considered no price too high to redeem us.  God took my place and redeemed my life with His Own in order to pay the debt I owed.

Mark 5:28, 34

Beloved, I touch You each morning and You heal and make me whole.  To Your question who touched Me Lord, I answer, Your know it is I Lord, Your little nothing who touched You and received everything.

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation I hear  these words every time,  "Go in peace daughter Your faith has saved You - be free.

---- Mine, you are temple of the Holy Spirit.  Within this temple God resides.  Take time to withdraw into this hidden sanctuary in you and then be still and let Me speak with you.  Be silent and recall all that I have done for you because I love you.

Daily Meditation:  Acts 1:4, 5 & 8

"---- Mine, wait for the fulfillment of the Father’s promise about which I have spoken to you.   You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit within a few days,
you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the earth.”

 @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

May Your promise to me be fulfilled through a loving, humble and submissive heart. Teach me obedience Lord.

GOSPEL READING OF THE DAY  (Lectionary)
Matthew 4:21-25

Make me Your lampstand O Lord and may I permit Your light to shine all around me so none may stumble or fall.  Open my ears so I may listen attentively to Your words and obey.  Teach me to give generously for I will be judged in  like measure.  In the open handed and open hearted measure that You have given me so may I give.

John 14:16-17

Daily Meditation:  John 14:16-17

---- Mine, I will ask the Father and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever, that Spirit of Truth that the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.  But you know Him for He is with you and in you.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Oh my Beloved, how can I not smile and feel abundantly blessed when I read this promise.  Thank You.   I love, adore, and worship You and You alone.

Jonah 3:1-5, 10,

My Beloved, true repentance will always move the heart of  God to forgive completely.

Psalm 40:2, 4, 7-10

Beloved, when I sin grant me the humility not to hide my guilt but to confess it confident that my God will forgive and forget my offenses.  May neither fear or pride hinder me from approaching You with a childlike expectation that You will accept my contrition and cleanse and restore me.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

You remind us Lord that there is a hereafter and that we should be aware of it.  There is a time for everything and there is a proper order for all things.  Before we know it it will be tomorrow.  Let me wake up Lord, lest I find that day come upon me and I am not ready.  Lord, I am weak, grant me Your grace and Your strength.

Mark 1:14-20

"........change your ways and believe the Good News.”

Beloved, it is hard to change a lifetime of bad habits and yet with Your  help it is possible.  With Your help and my will I can do it but Lord my will is weak and I fall at the starting line.  You  have called me and You will empower me.  Please strengthen my will and place my footsteps in Your.  Let me stay within the embrace of Your Church so that I can always run to her for help when I need it.  Stay with Me Lord!

Matthew 1:18

1 Samuel 24:3-21, Psalm 57:2-4, 6, 11, Mark 3:13-19

Daily Mass Readings:  Samuel 24:3-21, Psalm 57:2-4, 6, 11, Mark 3:13-19

Samuel 24:3-21

David acted as a man who trusted  completely in God.  He was not influenced by ill advise.  He refused to slay Saul for he knew that God Himself had anointed Saul as king.

Sometimes my Beloved, I allow myself to be influenced by what might sound like reasonable advice but is actually not pleasing to You at all.  May I always be guided by the truth that You have reveal through Scripture and through Your Holy Church.

Psalm 57:2-4, 6, 11

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy, for my soul takes refuge in you; I will find shelter in the shadow of your wings till the disaster has passed.
I call on God the Most High, on God who has done everything for me: may he send from heaven a savior and put my oppressors to shame. May God send me his love and faithfulness.

Yes, my Lord, I take refuge in You.  I hide in the shadow of Your wings.  Lose me in Yourself my own true God and I will be safe from my enemies.  You are a loving and faithful God - thank You for rescuing me from sin and answering every time I  have cried to You in my distress.  Thank You.

Mark 3:13-19

You call those whom You wanted and they came.  You appointed the twelve to be with You and You continue to call and those You call continue to respond.  They will remain with You as they fulfill their mission here in close union with Yourself.  The mission of the 12 was to preach the Good News of salvation and You gave them the authority to crush the power of evil and pave the way for good.

Our actions speak of who we are my Beloved.  May my actions proclaim that I am You, all Yours always.

Proverbs 3:5

Daily Meditation:  Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not rely on your own insight.

My Beloved, today You remind me  yet again, to put all my trust in You alone and You caution me against relying on my own insight.  If my way of thinking is not influenced by Your Spirit, then I must refrain from doing so, rather You advise me to allow Your Holy Spirit to imbue me fully, so that every thought, every word, every deed, every movement physical, mental and spiritual will be guided by You.  This must come to me as naturally as breathing then I will do nothing but that which  You would have me do.  Thus I will be preserved from the snares of all evil.

Wisdom 1:11

Daily Meditation:  Wisdom 1:11

11 Beware then, of empty complaints and keep your tongue from faultfinding, since your most secret word will have consequences; a lying tongue brings death to the soul.

Beloved,  how often I use words lightly, unaware of the consequences they may have for another.  Teach me prudence in order that I may think before I speak.  May my world build up and never tear down.  Teach me to be gentle, kind, compassionate in my speech.  If I am called to correct or point out a fault may I do so truthfully, honestly and gently.  Thank You.

1Samuel 18:6-9, 19:1-7, Psalm 56-2-3, 9-13, Mark 3:7-12

Daily Mass Readings:  1Samuel 18:6-9, 19:1-7, Psalm 56-2-3, 9-13,
                                Mark 3:7-12
====================================================

1Samuel 18:6-9, 19:1-7

Preserve me from the sin of envy my Lord, it is a wicked and hateful thing to be envious of the good given by You to others; rather, may I rejoice and be glad when others receive from the storehouse of Your treasures both spiritual and temporal and may I praise You always.  Help me also to remember never to side with evil for temporal gain but to stay always on the side of Truth.

Psalm 56-2-3, 9-13

Verse 9 is very consoling my Beloved.

You have a record of my laments; my tears are stored in your wineskin. Are they not written on your scroll?

I am bound to You by the covenant of love that You have made with me.  You walk with me, You live in me, You made made my heart Your sanctuary and You help me all the time.  Because You are my strength, I walk unafraid, for You keep me from straying from the path of love.

 Mark 3:7-12

Beloved, You  healed all who came to You.  Every need was met in You, every hunger satisfied.  Having You, who needs anything else?  Three short years You preached, healed and taught.  You walked miles all over the country side, towns and villages and they came to You in droves.  Were there many who were indifferent when You were taken by the soldiers and Your passion leading to Your death began?  Were there  many among the crowd now baying for Your blood the same ones who just a short while earlier had cheered You on on Your triumphant entry into Jerusalem and hailed You as King?    Were there many among the crowed who were too afraid to stand on the side of Truth?  And at Pentecost were these same people present when St. Peter preached and many repented, believed and became Your most ardent followers?  I am certain that many of those who pressed around You and touched You were in turn touched by the Spirit and were truly converted because Your followers in  imitation of You laid down their life for Truth.

Grant me Beloved a living, vibrant faith and teach me how to communicate this faith to others.

1 Samuel 15:16-23

My Beloved, nothing is more pleasing to You than an obedient heart and a submissive spirit.  Give me these Beloved in order that I may live forever m Your shadow and be filled with the sweetness of Your love.  Teach me to discern Your will for me and then grant me the grace to execute it.

Psalm 50:8-9, 16, 17, 21 & 23
Beloved, You loathe hypocrites  Those You love are those who walk in innocence, these You will save.  Count me among those You love my Lord and strengthen me through grace so that I may never displease You but remain childlike and submissive to Your will.

Mark 2:18-22

You who our Bridegroom, have revealed Yourself to Your own and we rejoice and celebrate Your coming.  This New Covenant of love which You have forged with us makes us one uniting  us in a bond that can never be broken.  You have given Yourself to me without reserve.  i wish to do the same in turn.  Take all of me my Beloved and remain with me until the end.

===============================================

"---- Mine, love shows itself in action, in self-denial, in giving, yielding and submitting, in forgetting self.  look at Me on the Cross and you will discover love revealed.  Love pours itself out completely, it is a total emptying of self in perfect humility.  This is the kind of love that is demanded of you too."

"I am weak Lord, be my strength."
