Acts 6:8-15, Psalm 119:23-27, 29-30, John 6:22-29

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Monday of the Third Week of Easter

One does not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Mt. 4:4B

Acts 6:8-15, Psalm 119:23-27, 29-30,  John 6:22-29

Acts 6:8-15

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

In the Acts of the Apostles, we see how every promise You made to Your Apostles and disciples and all that You foretold concerning what would happen to those who followed You, was being fulfilled. Stephen, one of Your disciples, was filled with the grace and power of the Holy Spirit and He preached the Good News with such power that many came to believe in You and were saved.

But there will always be the old guard jealous and envious who will stop at nothing even perjury and murder to safeguard their own position and power. So it was with You, so it was with Stephen and so it is t this day.

But those who preach the Gospel need fear nothing for just as You were with Stephen You are with us. Should the enemies of Truth kill our bodies our souls will live with You eternally.

Psalm 119:23-27, 29-30

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

The Father sent You into the world, His Eternal Word that was with Him always, to make His Love known to us all. You came and revealed the treasures of the Kingdom of God and You showed us the Way to receive eternal life in all its fullness. Your Word is Spirit and Life and it is food for our soul. The more we contemplate Your Word the more we understand its riches yet it is inexhaustible.

Thank You for always answering my prayers. Thank You for Your Way and for the Holy Spirit who helps me understand eternal truths.

Lord the way of the world can only bring tragedy, sorrow, and death. Keep me safe from the wiles of the Enemy and from my own concupiscence. Strengthen my resolve to walk in the way of Truth all the days of my life. Amen.

John 6:22-29

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

How often we come running after You for what You can give us instead of following You because You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life and there is no other means by which we can attain true joy.

Today, what You said to the crowds who came running after You because You gave them free food, You say to me as well,

"Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me
not because you saw signs
but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
For on him the Father, God, has set his seal."

We can attain eternal life only if we believe in You and the Father who sent You. There is no other way by which we can be saved. This is the Good News that we are called to preach. This is our sole mission. Keep me faithful and unafraid, my Beloved.
