DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Saturday of the Second Week of Easter
Christ is risen, who made all things;
he has shown mercy on all people.
Acts 6:1-7, Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19, John 6:16-21
Acts 6:1-7
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
To be filled with the Spirit and with wisdom must be the mark of any true disciple. The Church needs wise and Spirit-filled men and women to serve if she is to remain strong, united, and enjoy peace and favour with God and within the community.
We thank You, Beloved, for holy Bishops, priests, and religious who dedicate their lives in faithful and loving service to You and to Your people. We pray for those who are not living holy lives and are a scandal to those within her who look to them for leadership and guidance.
We ask that You inspire young people to strive for the higher and nobler things in life and to desire to offer their lives in service to You and Your Church so many may come to know You and be baptized. Amen.
Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The psalmist exhorts the people of God to exult in the Lord. Praise is always the right response for all that God does for us. Our hearts should soar on wings because we have a great God who walks among His people.
Beloved, God sent You into the world to show us the Way back to the Father's house. You not only did that but You also made it possible for us to do so by taking upon Yourself our sins, our punishment, and making restitution for our sins by the offering of Your life in a perfect sacrifice.
We owe You a debt we can never repay except by striving after holiness and perfection as You exhort us to and to spread the Good News to the whole world so all may come to know and believe in You and be saved.
John 6:16-21
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The Gospel of today is one of great comfort as it tells us that even though we who belong to You may face turbulent times in our lives we need never be afraid. You will always come to us, in miraculous ways even, and You will rescue us.
To Your people, You say, "It is I. Do not be afraid." And immediately the impossible becomes more than possible because You are Emmanuel, God with us. We will always reach the shore safely. Thank You.
