DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter

I am the bread of life, says the Lord;
whoever comes to me will never hunger. Jn 6:35AB

Acts 7:51 ---- 8:1A, Psalm 31:3-8, 17, 21AB,
John 6:30-35

Acts 7:51 ---- 8:1A

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

It is very rare in today's world for those in leadership in the Church to call out the sins of people as boldly as Stephen did. He knew that the Sanhedrin opposed him and were looking for an excuse to murder him but that did not stop him from telling them the truth. He made them aware of their hard hearts and their sinful attitude which made them blind to the Truth that saves. Instead of being convicted of their sins they were filled with blind fury and would have gladly torn him to pieces.

But it was when Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit exclaimed that he saw a vision of You seated in glory at the right hand of the Father they allowed their black rage to consume them and the dragged him out of the city and stoned him to death. He died forgiving his murderers and asking You not to hold their sin against them. It is You, Beloved, who will come to our aid if we are honest in living out our faith without fear no matter what the consequences of doing so may be.

Psalm 31:3-8, 17, 21AB

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Along with the psalmist, I ask You to be my Rock of Refuge, my Fortress, and my Deliverer. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me every moment of the day so I may not fall into the snares the Enemy lays for me.

I give You my whole life along with my will and I ask You to lead me all my days. I ask for the grace to trust You fully in everything even when I don't understand. Give me the grace to be joyful in all circumstances and may my heart be filled with praise and thanksgiving.

Let Your Face be turned towards me and shine upon me shine always and may I shelter in Your Sacred Heart all the days of my life.

John 6:30-35

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Just like the crowd that clamoured after You for bread to fill their stomachs so do we run frenziedly after the things of the world even though nothing the world offers can satisfy the hunger and thirst of our soul.

You alone, Beloved, are the Bread of Angels that came down from heaven to fill and satisfy the hungry heart. Truly Beloved, whoever comes to You will never hunger and anyone who believes in You will never thirst.
