DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter
Everyone who believes in the Son has eternal life,
and I shall raise him up on the last day, says the Lord. Jn 6:40
Acts 8:1B-8, Psalm 66:1-3A, 4-7A, John 6:35-40
Acts 8:1B-8
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The Church has always been persecuted. She is the Light that shines on the hill calling sinners to conversion. All are called but only a few respond to the invitation to come and taste how good You are.
It is very hard for those who are of the world to give up the temporary desires of the flesh for the eternal joy of the spirit. Their eyes look down and are caught up by earthly things but those who lift up their eyes and look upon the One whom we have pierced, there is always hope.
No matter where we are, it is the things that we do that attract or repel people to You. Let us never forget that. The Apostles preached the Gospel and they performed many wonderful signs in Your Name. I am called to be a sign in the world - a sign that You are Lord and that we are saved only through You.
Psalm 66:1-3A, 4-7A
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Grant me this grace, the grace that the psalmist had, to shout joyfully and sing Your praise everywhere and always. May I recount all the ways in which You have helped me and saved me. You have come to my aid even when I did not deserve it and You have turned my sorrow in joy.
Grant O Lord that in all I do or say each day I will be a powerful witness of Your love and presence in my life. I know I am a sinner and I fall several times a day, but may I never be discouraged by my weakness, for in it is Your strength made perfect. Thank You.
John 6:35-40
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
You are the Bread of Life that came down from heaven. We who eat Your Flesh, and drink Your Blood every day know that without it we will perish. You are the Food and the Drink that wells up to eternal life in us.
The Father whom You taught us to address as Abba loves us even though we are miserable sinners. He created us in love and desires that not one of His children be lost. This is why He sent You into the world to show us His Face and to show us how His love has no limits.
Thank You, Beloved, for Your love of Your Father. It is a love that saves the world. Eternal life is the Father's gift to all who believe in You. I believe, my Lord and my God.
