DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Saturday of the Third Week of Easter
Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life;
you have the words of everlasting life. Jn 6:63C, 68C
Acts 9:31-42, Psalm 116:12-17, John 6:60-69
Acts 9:31-42
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Truly, it is just as You have said. Anything you ask of the Father in My Name He will give it to you.
How wonderful it is to read the opening verses in today's First Reading:
The Church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace. She was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord,
and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit she grew in numbers.
If only this were true of the Church in the world today. There is no fear of the Lord in our age. But Beloved, there is a remnant of faithful ones who love You and who love the Truth. Keep these safe in Your love and use them powerfully to shine Your Light in the world.
We see how Peter healed Aeneas who was paralyzed in Your Name and raised Tabitha to life after he prayed to You. It is just as You promised. You assured Your Apostles and disciples that they too would do mighty works in Your Name once You returned to the Father and sent us Your Holy Spirit.
Grant my Beloved, that we who believe live faith-filled, holy lives so many may come to believe in You. Send forth Your Holy Spirit once more and rekindle the fire of His love in us. We make this prayer to the Father in Your Name, Amen.
Psalm 116:12-17
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The Psalmist asks, "How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good he has done for me?" and he responds, "The cup of salvation I will take up and I will call upon the name of the Lord."
I thank You, my Lord and my God for the gift of the Holy Eucharist where we represent to the Father the one, holy, and perfect Sacrifice of Calvary and we are privileged to eat and drink Your Body and Blood.
Thank You, Beloved, for the hope of eternity to those who are faithful to the end.
Keep me humble all the days of my life. Keep me aware of how unworthy I am and how completely I am dependant on You for everything.
John 6:60-69
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
To this day many who genuinely love You are unable to grasp the truth of the Holy Eucharist. There seems to be a veil over their understanding. They simply cannot imagine that You are really and truly present in the little, white Host. They cannot imagine that God can make Himself fully present in it. If the Virgin's womb could contain You Beloved, why not a Piece of Bread? All it takes is faith. For as You have said, "Nothing is impossible for God."
The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church reverberates with the Truth that Peter, as the visible head of the Church You founded said,
“Master, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life.
We have come to believe
and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.”
