DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Monday of the Fourth Week of Easter
I am the good shepherd, says the Lord;
I know my sheep, and mine know me. Jn 10:14
Acts 11:1-18, Psalm 42:2-3, 43:3-4, John 10:1-10
Acts 11:1-18
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
So often we too are scandalised as the Apostles were when they heard that Peter had entered the home of a Gentile and had eater with them. We have our prejudices, we are narrow-minded, we are rigid about some practices simply because it is part of our cultural heritage not because it is what God desires.
Once Peter explained to them his vision and what God wanted him to do, he cast aside all his personal objections and embraced God's will. Obedience to the will of the Father guarantees great joy and abundant fruit for the glory of God.
Grant us who believe in You, Beloved, this grace, to bend our hearts and minds to Your will always.
Psalm 42:2-3, 43:3-4
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
How beautifully the psalmist expresses the longing of a soul for God. It is this thirst for God that enables us to receive all that You desire to give us.
The Holy Spirit is given to all who are baptized in order that He may lead us into all Truth. Pilate asked, "Truth, what is that?" You are Way, the Truth, and the Life and only through You can any of us come to the Father.
Increase my thirst for You every day of my life. May I know with absolute certainty that nothing that passes away can ever give me that deep-seated abiding joy that being filled with You and Your Spirit can give.
John 10:1-10
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
You have warned us that many false prophets will come after You and this is true. They come in every guise and so many have been taken in by them and are stolen from the fold.
There is but one fold, but one flock, but one Shepherd. There is only one Way into the Fold and that is through You and through the Church You founded. The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Every other way will only lead to division and confusion and opens the way to Evil to enter and steal, rob, and kill.
Keep us faithful and vigilant always, Beloved.
