1 Kings 3:4-13, Psalm 119:9-14, Mark 6:30-34

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

1 Kings 3:4-13, Psalm 119:9-14, Mark 6:30-34

1 Kings 3:4-13

My Beloved, Solomon knew what to ask for when God said to him, "Ask what you want me to give you." The same is true for us.  If we, like Solomon, ask wisely for what will enable us grow into the person You desire us to be, You will grant us not only that which we ask for but everything else as well for there is none as generous as You my Lord,.  You give in full measure, shaken together and spilling over.

Mark 6:30-34

My Beloved, when we are successful, when we do well, there is a human tendency to preen with self satisfaction forgetting that it was You who gave us success.  It is important to get away from the crowd, to stay in silence with You, meditating and contemplating Your Word and getting a right perspective.  With pride follows every sin and we must guard against it vigilantly.  There will always be people in need demanding that they be met, but if we have nothing we will be unable to give.  You my Beloved supply all our needs.
