Daily Meditation: Ephesians 1:3-8
Ephesians 1:3-8
3 Blessed be God, the Father of Christ Jesus our Lord,
who in Christ has blessed us from heaven with every spiritual blessing.
4 God chose us in Christ before the creation of the world
to be holy and without sin in his presence.
5 From eternity he destined us in love
to be his adopted sons and daughters through Christ Jesus,
thus fulfilling his free and generous will.
This goal suited him:
6 that his loving-kindness which he granted us in his Beloved
might finally receive all glory and praise.
7 For in Christ we obtain freedom, sealed by his blood,
and have the forgiveness of sins.
In this appears the greatness of his grace,
8 which he lavished on us.
In all wisdom and understanding,
My Beloved Jesus, it is amazing to see the Holy Spirit at work in St. Paul. He once killed Christians, he once terrorized Your people but after his encounter with you his conversion is total. In those few moments , when he encountered You he was completely transformed. In his temporary physical blindness where the world was shut out, in a spirit of prayer and fasting, he surrendered himself to You. In the course of his life he grasped the truth of divine mysteries and he has shared these divine truths with us so we too can comprehend what God the Father has done for us through You.
With the gift of understanding given to us by Your Holy Spirit, we being to marvel at the Father's love us us and it is right, just and fitting that we bless God who is Your Father and our Father through You. In You we are blessed with every spiritual blessing from heaven. Nothing is held back. You are eternally One with the Father and in You we have been chosen before the dawn of creation to share in the life of grace which helps strive to be holy and sinless in God's Presence.
We have done nothing to merit such love. It is hard to comprehend such generous and selfless love. The Father knew that this most wondrous gift of our free will would eventually lead us to disobedience for the world, the flesh and the devil are constantly tempting us. With His foreknowledge of our fall, He asked You to be the Saving Victim whereby we will all be saved. Even though we fall due to concupiscence, we can always return to You. We are sealed in Your Blood through the Sacraments.
It was not necessary for You to die in the way that God asked of You. But by yielding to the Father You were able to demonstrate the sheer magnitude of the Father's love by not withholding His Only Son but He gave You up to be the Perfect Lamb of sacrifice, the Lamb without blemish, the only acceptable sacrifice in order that we might live and give You all the glory.
The Father raised You up Beloved and has given You a Name that is above every other name. All that the Father desired has been perfectly accomplished in You. We are created in love. God knew us intimately even before creation, He made provision for our salvation by Your Holy Sacrifice so that we would never be separated from Him. He grafted us to You so that through You we become His adopted sons and daughters. He lavishes every grace and blessing on us. Bathed in Your most Precious Blood we are able to stand holy and sinless in His Presence for we have been washed clean and are made whole again in You.

---- Mine, understand the Father's love for you and praise and glorify Him always. He did not permit Abraham to kill his son Isaac although Abraham was prepared obey God's command. The Father did what He would not let Abraham do. The measure of the Father's love is perceived in the horror of my Passion and Death. The Father and I both knew even before the first lash fell on my back exactly what I would have to go through and neither of us flinched because we love you.

Child glorify My Son. Speak of what He has done. My joy is to see My Son's sacrifice acknowledged, appreciated and praised so He may be glorified by every man, woman and child ever created together with all creation. It is in this way that my joy is made complete - to see My Son worshipped, adored, loved, praised, honored and glorified.

My Beloved grant this little nothing a full measure of Your Holy Spirit in order that I may grasp to the fullest extent my finite being can comprehend, the wonder of God's love for me.
