MONDAY OF THE TWENTIETH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - 2021

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

How happy are the poor in spirit:
theirs is the kingdom of heaven. MT 5:3

JUDGES 2:11-19 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

Only fools and the feebleminded repeat errors expecting different results and it is comically tragic that people in every generation continue to do so. We deliberately erase from our memories the cost of living godless lives and hence we are doomed to living shallow, empty, vacuous lives devoid of any meaning. No matter what created thing we use to fill the vacuum in our souls nothing satisfies and we become hedonists constantly looking for the next dangerous thrill that will kill both body and soul.

So it was with the sons of Israel and so it is with us ad infinitum ad nauseam. Tragedies engulf us. Nature rises up wrathfully against us. The very earth shudders in revulsion at our depravities and desires to shake us out of her bosom but we are blissfully ignorant of truth for we find our deceit far more preferable and more palatable to our senses.

But one of these days the Lord's anger will flame out against us as it flamed against Israel at the time of the Judges and He will hand us over to the enemy until we return to our senses and repent with bitter tears as we plead and cry for His mercy.

We pray that it may not be too late and that we give up our wicked ways and plead for Your wounds, suffered on our behalf, will rescue us from the enemy.
