Your word is truth, O Lord:
consecrate us in the truth. JN 17:17
2 TIMOTHY 1:1-3, 6-12
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
Once Paul encountered You on the road to Damascus there was no turning back. There never has been a more zealous missionary and evangelist to the Good News than him. His every breath, every moment that he was alive, he sought to witness to You, our Lord and Savior. Nothing deterred him neither hardship nor difficulty, he pressed on spurred on and guided by the Holy Spirit to make You known so all could hear the Truth preached and be saved.
Beloved, renew us in the Holy Spirit, and set us on fire with the same zeal to establish Your Kingdom on earth.
PSALM 123:1-2
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
We are living in turbulent times. In addition to the pandemic that has turned our lives upside down, there are many other calamities that ceaselessly beset us. Lives are lost, livelihoods are lost, fear, anxiety, and suffering dominate the hearts of many. There is turmoil everywhere and evil is having a field day.
In these trying and difficult times, Beloved, grant us the grace to lift our gaze and keep them fixed on You. We know that death has been trounced and evil has been overcome by the power of Your Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Not like slaves, nor like servants but like infants, children, sons, and daughters, we fix our gaze on You confident that because God is our Abba, You are our Brother, and the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, all is well.
MARK 12:18-27
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
If we grub around in a trough with food and swill for swine we will be fed by food and swill meant for swine. If we look for heavenly things in the things of the flesh and the world, we will drag our soul and our spirit through mire, muck, and dirt.
Thank You for raising our gaze to God and to the wonder and beauty of the wisdom of the Most High. The commandments are given to us and apply for as long as we live in the world. The rules of the earth do not apply in the heavenly realm where we will be all in all with God.
