DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. PS 118:24
ACTS 3:11-26
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
The crowd at Solomon's Portico witnessed the miraculous healing of the man crippled from birth and when they looked at Peter and John in amazement, Peter addressed the crowd and told them that it was You, Jesus, who they crucified and the power of Your Name that had healed the man. Rejected and put to death for the sins of the world, God raised You and gave You the Name that is above all others.
Peter and John gave You the glory. The Covenant with Abraham now extends to people of every nation in the New Covenant sealed in Your Blood.
PSALM 8:2AB, 5-9
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
There is no name given to us in heaven on earth or under the earth that has the power of Your Name - the Name of Jesus which makes hell tremble and heaven and earth rejoice.
The greatest mystery of mysteries Beloved, is this, that God continues to love His wretched, sinful creatures who willfully, deliberately, and disobediently continue to do what He expressly forbids.
We thank God our Father that is loving mercy is always extended to us through the wounds of Your Passion.
How glorious is Your Name O Lord in all the earth!
LUKE 24:35-48
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
There is a distinct Eucharistic element in all Your post Resurrection appearances to the disciples. It is a gathering of the disciples around You in Communion and the reality of Your Presence in their midst. The marks of Your Crucifixion are a permanent reality of the Sacrifice that wrought our salvation. There is a meal that signifies that You are the Bread of Life, the Food that sustains us in our journey from this life to the life to come. And it is in this Communion, this gathering together at Holy Mass and in the breaking of bread we recognize You and cry out in one voice, "My Lord and my God."
You are our peace in the midst of the storm. You are our food in the time of hunger. You are our drink in the time of thirst. When our sins, doubts, and fears overwhelm us You come to us and say, "Why are you troubled? Why do You doubt? Look at My hands and my feet. We recognize You from the scars on Your hands, feet, and side just as completely as we recognize You in the breaking of bread.
You hunger for our love just as we hunger for You. You thirst for our love just as we thirst for You. Perhaps Yours is the greater hunger and thirst for so many reject You still.
To everyone in the world who is lonely, rejected, sick, suffering, and miserable You say, "Touch Me." You are here, You are real and when we call on Your Name, even though our faith is weak, You will hear and answer such is the power of Your Name and Your Love.
