Genesis 41:55-57; 52:5-7A, 17-24A,
My Love, Beloved, of my soul,
God has the power to draw good out of all the terrible things that happen in our lives. Joseph's brothers meant to do him harm. They betrayed their father's trust because they were envious and jealous of Joseph but the hand of God was on him. Through all the hardships that he suffered God was with him and when he raised him up, in the end, God used him to help all the nations of the world when they suffered from famine. Joseph did not harbor thoughts of vengeance but was ready to forgive his brothers. He knew that although they meant to do him evil, God used their wicked actions to bring about good. He and his brothers would become the 12 leaders of the tribes of Israel and through them, God would fulfill the Covenant He made with Abraham.
We can always trust God to use all the circumstances of our lives even the bad, the ugly, and the painful, for good. With You, Beloved, nothing is impossible.
Psalm 33:2-3, 10-11, 18-19,
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
It is easy to become despondent when we see our elected government officials fail us time and time again. It is easy to lose heart and lose hope when our shepherds forget that they have been appointed and anointed to tend the flock instead it is they who abandon their sheep leaving them open to attack from the Enemy without and within. However, as the psalmist reminds us, the plans of the Lord stand forever. God's will and purpose will be fulfilled despite every seemingly insurmountable obstacle and hurdle.
We can trust You, Beloved, to watch over us faithfully. Even if the whole world fails us You will never fail us. We are called to trust You always and to trust in Your unchanging, eternal Word. The whole world and all in it may crumble and fall but You, O Lord, will uphold Your people. You will save us for we belong to You.
Matthew 10:1-7
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Just as the Twelve sons of Jacob were chosen by God to rule over the 12 tribes of Israel so too did You choose the Twelve Apostles to be the pillars on which You would build Your Church.
To the Twelve and to their successors You have given authority to cure every disease and illness both spiritual and physical. They are given the authority to drive out demons, to heal, to bless, to forgive sins, to give us Your Body and Blood as food for our soul. Only in the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church founded by You does the fullness of Truth, the fullness of Life, the fullness of the Presence of God dwell.
This is the Good News that we are called to preach by the way we live our lives, that God has made an eternal Covenant of Love with us by sending You into the world to save and redeem us and that there is salvation in no other except in You. All who believe will feast eternally at the Banquet of Life in the Kingdom of heaven.
