The Kingdom of God is at hand:
repent and believe in the Gospel. Mk 1:15
Genesis 44:18-21, 23-29; 45:1-5,
Psalm 105:16-21,
Matthew 10:7-15
Genesis 44:18-21, 23-29; 45:1-5
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Joseph is an archetype of You. His brother Judah said, "You are the equal to Pharaoh." You, my Beloved, are equal to the Father. We are Your sisters and brothers but You have been set far above us all. We come to You in our hunger for in You alone is found Bread for the soul, the Living Bread that sustains us and wells up to eternal life.
No matter how grave our sins or how numerous, You will always forgive us when we confess them with sorrow and a broken, contrite heart. You do not desire the death of the sinner but desire that all be saved and come to the knowledge of Truth.
Just as Joseph invited his brothers to come closer, so too do You invite us to come close to You, be united to You, receive the joy and life that come from belonging to You. You invite us to forget our sins once we have confessed them for You came to forgive our sins and give us new life.
We sold You for 30 pieces of silver but God used our evil for good. As Joseph said, "It was really for the sake of saving lives that God sent me here ahead of you."
Yes, Beloved, God so loved the world that He sent You, His only Son, not to condemn us but to redeem us and save us.
Psalm 105:16-21
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
If the Father had not sent You into the world, we would have died in our sins and been lost forever. But God did send You, His only Son, to become one like us in order that we would know how much He loves us. You became a slave in order that we may be free. You entered into our death in order that we may receive new life in You.
You bore the sins of the whole world and paid the wages of sin in order that we may pass from death to eternal life.
This is why the Father has given You a Name far above every other name and has enthroned You at His right hand and has given You all authority, dominion, and power. At Your Name demons tremble and all in heaven and earth bow down in worship, praise, and thanksgiving for You are worthy to receive all the glory.
Matthew 10:7-15
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Faith and salvation are free gifts that are given to all who believe. What we have received freely we are called to share with others. Your authority and power is given to us at Baptism but most especially to the successors of Peter and the Apostles. In Your Name, they have received power to forgive sins, bring healing, and command the evil spirits to depart. However, they have to have complete trust in You that You will do exactly as You have said You will. They are to trust only in You and in nothing else.
We live in a world where the temptation to put our trust in people, power, influence, and material things is great and many succumb to it; this is why the Church is weak and ineffective.
It is the faithful remnant who have the courage to take You at Your Word, who will revive her. We need not lose hope for we have Your assurance that You will remain with her always and the gates of hell shall not prevail against her. We live in an age where sin abounds but we trust in Your Word and believe that where sin abounds grace abounds as well.
