DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death
and brought life to light through the Gospel. 2 Tim 1:10

Genesis 29:10-22A, Psalm 91:1-4, 14-15AB,
Matthew 9:18-26

Genesis 29:10-22A

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

The Covenant God made with Abraham and his descendants in an eternal Covenant it is one to which He remains faithful until the end of the world.

Through Jacob and his sons, God continues to fulfill the Covenant He made. In a vision, he sees God and His angels and God renews the Covenant assuring him saying,

"I, the LORD, am the God of your forefather Abraham
and the God of Isaac;
the land on which you are lying
I will give to you and your descendants.
These shall be as plentiful as the dust of the earth,
and through them you shall spread out east and west, north and south.
In you and your descendants
all the nations of the earth shall find blessing.
Know that I am with you;
I will protect you wherever you go,
and bring you back to this land.
I will never leave you until I have done what I promised you."

Jacob built a shrine there naming the place Bethel, the House of God. Beloved, in the New Covenant that You have made with us, Your people, You make Your abode in our hearts. You are our refuge and our strength. You are enshrined in us and make our body Your holy temple. Thank You, Beloved for desiring to be one with us despite our unworthiness.

Psalm 91:1-4, 14-15AB

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

You are our Savior, our Redeemer, our Lord, and our God. You have rescued us from the snares of the Enemy. You have set us free from death and fill us with Your life. We find refuge in Your Sacred Heart and in You we make our home.

We believe in You, hope in You, trust You, we are the people of the New Covenant purchased and redeemed by Your saving Blood. Thank You for laying down Your life in Sacrifice to free us from death and give us a share in Your Resurrection.

And now my Love, Beloved of my soul, we are Yours; I am Yours in life, death and eternity.

Matthew 9:18-26

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

There is no God like You O Lord. You are the Author of Life who has forever removed the sting of death. We need not fear the hour when we must leave this place where we are but pilgrims and wanderers. Our true home is with You in the Kingdom of God.

When the official came to You to plead with You to lay Your hand on his dead daughter convinced that if You did she would live again. The woman who suffered for 12 years from hemorrhages was convinced that if she only touched the hem of Your cloak she would be healed of the infirmity that had wrecked her life.

Both the official and the woman were rewarded for their faith. The official's daughter was raised from death to life and the woman was cured of her illness.

Beloved, grant me an expectant faith that believes You when You say, "Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened." Grant me a faith that is unafraid to ask boldly knowing that You delight in a childlike confidence and trust in Your love.
