2 Corinthians 3:15---4:1, 3-6, Psalm 85:9-13,
Matthew 5:20-26

2 Corinthians 3:15---4:1, 3-6

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

We do not know, we are not aware to the fullest extent what a tremendous gift it is that has been given to us - the gift of faith given gratis. Gracious Lord, like the people of Israel all those outside the Church You founded, have a veil over their hearts. For non-Christians, it is an impenetrable shroud, for Christians, it is a lighter veil for they are unable to comprehend the fullness of the faith given to the children of Holy Mother Church.

However, we ought not to take this gift lightly for with this knowledge comes the responsibility of living as children dwelling in the fullness of Your Light and grace through the power of the Spirit dwelling in us.

The Gospel is veiled for those who are of the world because their god is the world. They give fervent obeisance to the toxic culture prepared to destroy anything and anyone that does not conform to their warped evil ideology that is inspired by the spirit of the world.

We, however, are called to shine Your light in the darkness around us so that others too may come to know You and walk in the light of Your Presence.

Psalm 85:9-13

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

In a world that is rife with strife, You assure us that You are the Lord of peace. You came to bring peace, not as the world knows it but as God knows it.

We can live in peace and harmony when we love with a love that is divine. A life that goes beyond the narrow confines of selfish desire. A life that is prepared to sacrifice all for the sake of the other.

You came into the world Beloved to reveal this love. It the love of the Father which is embodied and imaged perfectly in You, His beloved Son. When we walk with You and learn from You, when we receive Your Spirit in us and allow the Holy Spirit complete freedom to act in us, we too will experience kindness and truth in all our relationships.  Justice and peace will most surely embrace and God will walk with us and the Kingdom of Heaven will be realised here on earth.

Matthew 5:20-26

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

You have told us in no uncertain terms that the Kingdom of Heaven must be realized in every heart that believes in You. Only when the Holy Spirit resides in us and is given complete autonomy over us will our righteousness go beyond the narrow confines of prejudice and meaningless rituals.

We are called to love as You love. We are called to show the other cheek, to go the extra mile, to give above and beyond what is asked from us or taken from us by force. We are called to be a people of love and peace in a world of hatred and division. We are called to be leaven in the world so we can level mountains and fill valleys with Love that has descended from above and has made His home in us.

Beloved, grant that we live in peace and harmony with our family first and then extend that peace and harmony from within us and our homes to the whole world.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine. Amen.
