DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Saturday of the Seventh Week of Easter
I will send to you the Spirit of truth, says the Lord;
he will guide you to all truth. Jn 16:7, 13
Acts 28:16-20, 30-31, Psalm 11:4-5, 7, John 21:20-25
Acts 28:16-20, 30-31
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The natural, divine progression of Judaism was Christianity when God came from His people to dwell with His people. Sadly the whole nation rejected You except for a few.
Paul speaks the truth when he addressed the leaders of the Jews in Rome. He understood that all that was revealed in Scripture and through the prophets found their perfect fulfilment in You.
However, this is how You chose to use the rejection of the Jews to spread the Gospel to all the nations. In the end, Beloved, Your people will also embrace You as a great many of the Gentiles have done.
Psalm 11:4-5, 7
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Truly, we are most blessed, we who are members of Your Body, the Church. We are privileged to gaze upon You in the Holy Eucharist and not only to gaze on You but to feast on Your Body and Blood. Your life courses through us through the graces received in the Sacraments.
Yes, Beloved, You dwell in fullness in our tabernacles all over the world. Yes, while Your throne is in the highest heavens You are also enthroned in the hearts that know You, believe in You and love You. Those who are called by Your Name.
Thank You for Your constant Presence in us and around us. Thank You for Your eternal gaze that keeps watch over us. Thank You for grace that enables us to remain in Your love.
John 21:20-25
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
We, sinful creatures, are generally preoccupied with things that have nothing to do with our salvation. All that is needed is that we follow You closely, moment by moment until we reach our final destination - the Kingdom of God.
Peter was curious about the disciple who lay on Your breast. He wondered if he would be given special privileges because of the great love You had for this disciple. How often we too spend needless and an inordinate amount of time wondering about things that have no bearing on the things that truly matter. Love of God and love of our brothers and sisters.
All that is necessary has been revealed in the Old Testament, in the New, in Sacred Tradition and will be held in sacred trust by the Magisterium for all God's people in the Church You founded. All that we require is to fix our gaze on You and be filled and led by Your Holy Spirit.
