Acts 2:1-11

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

We are living in the Age of the Holy Spirit, and we who believe, we who are members of Your mystical body, the Church, ought to be like the early Apostles when the Holy Spirit descended upon them and the Church was born. It is the same Spirit that is given to us and the power of the Spirit is unchanging. This is the work of the Spirit to empower each member within the Church to establish Your Kingdom here on earth.

Yet, in truth, how far we are from what the early Church was. People looked at them and were edified. They wanted to emulate them. They desired to have what the members of the early Church had and many were baptized. There were wonderful signs and miracles performed in Your mighty Name and the Holy Spirit was at work mightily.

It can be so again if we are prepared to set aside the works of the flesh and take up the works of the Spirit. It seems impossible when we look at the world today but nothing is impossible for You. May Your faithful remnant, Beloved, continue to pray in faith and hope knowing that in the end Your Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph.

Psalm 104:2, 24, 29-31, 34

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Today the Church celebrates the Age of the Holy Spirit and her birthday. It is the day when she came alive and was given the power she needed to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations.

Today is a day of triumph. We will rejoice and be glad. We will not look at the world as it is but what God can and will bring forth despite the fact that sin flourishes all around us and keep our gaze on You and trust that Your Holy Spirit who empowered the Apostles and disciples continues to empower all people of goodwill who live lives that witness to the Truth. The Truth that saves.

If you take away their breath, they perish
and return to their dust.
When you send forth your spirit, they are created,
and you renew the face of the earth.

Romans 8:8-17

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

St. Paul does not mince words but gives it to us straight. No political correctness here, no tip-toeing around the truth. If we live according to the flesh we displease You and we grieve the Holy Spirit.  If however, we live according to the Spirit nothing will be impossible for this is Your promise to us and Your promises are true.

The Spirit who raised You from the dead also lives in us because we are grafted to You and He will raise us to eternal life as well to share in Your glory. This is what You have said and this is what we believe.

We are sons and daughters of the Living God through Baptism and if we persevere daily in pursuit of holiness and perfection no matter how often we fall in a day, if we are sincere, obedient and humble, no matter how little progress we make, in the end, You will look at how hard we tried and You will be infinitely merciful to us.

No one likes suffering Beloved, but we are called to embrace it. Grant us all the grace we need to pick up our cross daily and follow You.

John 14:15-16, 23B-26

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Grant me the grace to keep Your commandments to love God before and above all things with all the fervor of my soul, and to love my neighbour as I love myself. Thank You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit who enables me to make progress in the spiritual life no matter how infinitesimally small that progress may be.

I do love You, my Beloved, help me to keep Your Word always before me and to obey Your Word which is Spirit and Life.

Thank You for the Gift of Your Holy Spirit who leads us to all Truth and who empowers us to spread the Good News by the way we live our lives in the world.
