DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Tuesday of the Seventh Week of Easter
I will ask the Father
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you always. Jn 14:16
Acts 20:17-27, Psalm 68:10-11, 20-21, John 17:1-11A
Acts 20:17-27
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Paul is a wonderful example of the ideal missionary who lived only to preach the Good News so that many could come to know and believe in You and be saved.
He lived a life of hard work supplying for his needs and that of his companions so as not to be a burden on anyone. He preached with zeal and witnessed by example. He was unafraid in preaching the truth even if it would make powerful enemies who would not hesitate to kill him.
He believed and his belief was so strong that nothing would deter him from preaching the Gospel. It was a fire that consumed him and gave him no rest.
Lord God, may it be so for us as well. May we be bold in living the Gospel even if it means persecution and rejection.
Psalm 68:10-11, 20-21
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
You bless me and those I love with an abundance of blessings. How good You are to me, my Lord. Even when I am unfaithful, You are always gracious, kind, loving and merciful.
Thank You for Your tender love and care of me and those I love and pray for. Thank You for bearing my burdens for me. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for the life of grace I live because You have poured Your life-giving Spirit into my heart. Thank You for the hope I have of an eternal destiny with You.
John 17:1-11A
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Finally, the hour has arrived when You will pass from this life to the next. You know exactly what You will have to endure and yet Your thoughts and prayers are for those You will leave behind. You revealed all that the Father asked You to. The Father sent You into the world so we could know Him, how much He loved us even though we were unworthy of His love.
All who believe in You also believe that it was the Father who sent You. You came to show us the Way back to the Father's house and You have sent Your Holy Spirit to help us get there.
Thank You for keeping us safe in Your Name through the waters of Baptism and through all the Sacraments that channel grace and life into our souls. Thank You for ensuring that we have all we need in this life to enable us to make the journey safely from this life to eternity.
