DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
The Ascension of the Lord
Go and teach all nations, says the Lord;
I am with you always, until the end of the world. Mt 28:19A, 20B
Acts 1:1-11, Psalm 47:2-3, 6-9, Ephesians 1:17-23,
Luke 24:46-53
Acts 1:1-11
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
After Your Resurrection, You appeared several times to the Apostles and disciples so they could be in no doubt that You were alive. Death had no power over You. In the forty days that You were with them, You spoke about the Kingdom of God that they were to make known throughout the world and help establish. They were instructed not to leave Jerusalem but wait for the fulfilment of the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit. They were baptized with water, with the baptism of John they were soon to be baptized with the Fire of the Holy Spirit.
Being human we are curious about many things. We want to know things that are not necessary for us to know. Satisfying curiosity has no place in revelation. This is why when they asked when the kingdom of Israel would be restored, You replied, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
With these words, You were taken up in glory. The Apostles' gaze was transfixed to the skies until two men dressed in white garments addressed and reminded them that You would come again just as they had seen You go. In the meantime, they had a mission to accomplish.
We too have the same mission, Beloved. May we always be faithful in accomplishing it.
Psalm 47:2-3, 6-9
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
How blessed we are to be born of Catholic parents and so receive the Sacrament of Baptism. We did nothing to merit so great a blessing and favor from You. Being Catholic opens the gate to receive the other Sacraments as well, the Sacraments that pour life and grace into our soul that enable us to thrive despite the toxic culture of the world.
Truly Beloved, if we understood what a great privilege and gift are ours we would clap our hands and shout to God with cries of gladness. Every breath we breathe would praise You for we have You as our God, King, and Lord.
Lord keep me faithful. Keep me humble. Keep me aware Beloved, that I ought never to take what You have done for me for granted. Thank You for the final destiny that is mine because You won that glorious destiny for me. Amen.
Ephesians 1:17-23
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Brothers and sisters:
May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
give you a Spirit of wisdom and revelation
resulting in knowledge of him.
May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened,
that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call,
what are the riches of glory
in his inheritance among the holy ones,
and what is the surpassing greatness of his power
for us who believe,
in accord with the exercise of his great might:
which he worked in Christ,
raising him from the dead
and seating him at his right hand in the heavens,
far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion,
and every name that is named
not only in this age but also in the one to come.
And he put all things beneath his feet
and gave him as head over all things to the church,
which is his body,
the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.
Luke 24:46-53
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
It was necessary that Scripture had to be fulfiled to the very last detail. The mission of the Messiah was prophesied in the Old Testament by the prophets and every one of them You fulfiled. It is clear for those whose hearts are ready to receive the Truth, that God came down from heaven and walked among us. You were born like us except that it was a virgin birth. You suffered and died because that was the only way that the price for sin which is death, could be paid. A Sinless Life in exchange for sinners who were doomed to die.
Thank You, Beloved, for paying the price and for the joy that is now ours because our hope is in You.

Ephesians 1:17-23
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
May these glorious words of St. Paul to the Ephesians be etched on my heart. May they become a source of perennial joy because I belong to the family of God and that I am a member of Your mystical body, the Church.
Thank You, Father, thank You Holy Spirit for all that You have done for us because we believe in Jesus, Our Savior and Redeemer.
