1 Corinthians 15:54-58, Luke 6:39-45

Sirach 27:4-7

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Grant me wisdom that comes from Your Holy Spirit. Grant me the grace to hunger and thirst for You and to allow Your Truth to shape my thoughts, words and deeds. Guided by Your Truth I will shine Your Light, no matter how feebly, around me. When times of testing come, Beloved, may I remain faithful to You.

Psalm 92:2-3, 13-16

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Grant me the grace to praise and thank You in all circumstances. May I never fail to praise You from dawn to the time when I lie down at night to sleep. May my whole life be one of praise and thanksgiving to You who have loved me from all time.

It is You who keeps me safe, who protects me, who nourishes and strengthens me and guides me. Thank You for the rich and infinite graces I receive through the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Thank You for Your assurance that those who are planted in You will bear rich fruit to the end because You are our God and we are the people You have chosen to be Your own.

1 Corinthians 15:54-58

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

I am grateful to the Church for this glorious season of Lent that is almost upon us. It gives us an opportunity to contemplate the reason we were created and our final destiny.

We long for the day when all the merits You have won for us will be visible in every human being all over the world for all will know You and will have come to the knowledge of Truth embodied in You. Maranatha, Beloved. Hasten the day when sin no longer shall rule the world. Come quickly, Beloved, so we can claim at last, and forever, a share in Your Kingdom that the Father has promised all who believe.

Luke 6:39-45

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Today You remind us who desire to follow You closely that we must be like You. All who see us must recognize You in the way we speak, think and act. For many we will be Your Face in the world may we not distort Your Image by unworthy lives.

Lord, God, may I know that I am flawed. I am a sinner. I am weak. I need to constantly look at my own weaknesses that lead me to sin and to be contrite and repentant. May I always look to You for grace and help especially in the Sacrament of Confession. May this Season of Lent enable me to see more clearly the need for renewal in my own life and with Your help root out those things that keep me from belonging more fully to You. Help me to be all that the Father desires me to be - holy and perfect as He is holy and perfect. May I not get discouraged when I fall but reach out to You to help me rise up and begin anew.
