Sirach 17:1-15, Psalm 103:13-18, Mark 10:13-16

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth;
you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.
Mt 11:25

Sirach 17:1-15, Psalm 103:13-18, Mark 10:13-16

Sirach 17:1-15

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

You created me in Your Own image. You have granted me wisdom, understanding, knowledge of what is pleasing to You, and so much more. You have given me a desire, a longing, a yearning to love You with all my heart and my soul.

You have blessed me all the days of my life and You assure me that just as You have loved me in time You will continue to love me just as extravagantly in eternity. I am Your possession. Your eye is always upon me and You keep me safe in Your love and in Your Heart.

I exult in Your love for me even though I am quite undeserving. I am grateful that Your love for me is not dependant on any merit of mine for I have none. Thank You, Beloved, for the grace to love You in return no matter how imperfectly. With the help of Your Spirit, grant that I grow to love you daily more and more.

Psalm 103:13-18

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

The psalmist echoes all You have said to me today. Thank You.

As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him,
For he knows how we are formed;
he remembers that we are dust.

Man's days are like those of grass;
like a flower of the field he blooms;
The wind sweeps over him and he is gone,
and his place knows him no more.

But the kindness of the LORD is from eternity
to eternity toward those who fear him,
And his justice toward children's children
among those who keep his covenant.

The Lord's kindness is everlasting.

Mark 10:13-16

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Like the disciples who wanted to keep the children away from You, we too are always impatient with those who are weak, those who are different, those who are small and helpless. It is not so with You. Everyone is welcome into Your wide open and loving arms especially those whom the world prefers not to see, those whom the world considers a nuisance.

We grow more selfish each day putting our needs, and our comforts before those of others and we are prepared to commit grave sins in order to pander to our flesh.

Today You tell us that only the childlike will gain entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. A child loves without prejudice, a child trusts completely. We are called to love and trust You with a childlike love.
