Jeremiah 1:4-5, 17-19

My Love, Beloved of my soul,,,

Thank You for Your loving assurance that the Father has known me even before I was formed in the womb and that You already had a plan for my life. Keep me faithful to the end. Grant me the grace and courage to discern Your will in all things and to do it always. Do not let fear overpower me rather, trusting in You, let me always keep my gaze fixed on You and do all that You desire of me trusting that You will give me all I need to do what You ask. Thank You also for assuring me that You are with me and will deliver me from all that comes against me.

Psalm 71:1-6, 15-17

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

May I never cease to sing Your praises for all You have done for me and those I love. You are faithful, grant that I too may be faithful to You always. You are my Rock, my Refuge, my Deliverer. Your ear is always inclined to the sound of my voice to help and save me. You keep me safe in the shadow of Your love for You surround me. You rescue me from the wiles of the enemy. I will place all my hope and trust in You every moment of every day that I live. Thank You for the strength You give me through the wonderful Sacraments. May I never be afraid to declare Your love and Your faithfulness and to praise You for as long as I have breath.

1 Corinthians 12:31 --- 13:3

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

In this beautiful hymn to love and of love, St. Paul gives us a blueprint for our lives. Love should be the fabric of our lives and must determine every thought, word, and deed. Without love all our good works are meaningless, all our prayers will remain but words. We have heard this passage so often. We have read beautiful insights on it, we have heard wonderful preaching based on these verses and we know that God’s nature is Love. If we profess to be His children, and we are through Baptism, then we too ought to have our Father’s nature. Love must be the hallmark of all His children. So many of us live our lives dictated by our emotions, fears, feelings, but that is not the way that God desires us to live.

You make rich graces available to us all we need to do is lean on You and allow Your Holy Spirit to direct our thoughts, words, and deeds so we love always, in season and out of season. Thank You Beloved for the Holy Spirit that inspired St. Paul to write this beautiful poem on love that is eternal. More importantly, may we seek to make love the rule of our lives. Amen.

Luke 4:21-30

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Which of us has not acted like the people in Your hometown Nazareth at some time or other? On hearing Your speak they were very impressed by Your words but that was all. It did not have any other effect on them; instead, they began to wonder how You got such wisdom considering Your humble background. After all, they said, we know his father is Joseph. It was then that You challenged them and what they heard was so disagreeable to them that they were prepared to throw You over the cliff and kill You rather than be convicted by the truths You conveyed. You, however, walked calmly away. They had no power over You.

How often Beloved I too am guilty of being delighted by the beauty and power of the Gospel but the moment it challenges me I become restless and annoyed. Help me always to be ready to face my shortcomings when I am convicted no matter how they are revealed to me. Grant me the grace to repent, be contrite, ask for forgiveness and begin anew. Amen.
