Hebrews 12:1-4, Psalm 22:2-28, 30-32, Mark 5:21-43

Hebrews 12:1-4

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

We thank You for the great communion of saints who have gone before us, the Church Triumphant, they are now in Your Presence. They persevered in the faith and many shed their blood because of it. Help me to live out my own faith in You with courage each day. Grant me the grace to always choose to do Your will in all things rather than my own. Help me to keep my gaze fixed on You alone and fill me with the Holy Spirit and with joy.

You have shown us how to live and how to die may we not be ashamed to profess our faith by the daily witness of our ordinary lives. Amen.

Psalm 22:2-28, 30-32

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

We were created by God to know Him, love Him, serve Him, and be happy with Him in this life and gloriously happy in the life to come.

Thank You for the Sacraments beginning with Baptism that welcomes us into the family of God and gives us the privilege to call Him Father.

Thank You for all the other Sacraments instituted by You Beloved that makes graces in abundance available to us so that we may always choose good over evil, right over wrong, light over darkness, love over hate. Thank You that all who die with Your Name on their lips shall find that You are their Inheritance in the life to come.

Grant my Beloved that all succeeding generations may joyfully and courageously live out their faith in You so that someday, we may all together praise You unceasingly forever.

Mark 5:21-43

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

In both of the miraculous healings mentioned in today's Gospel passage, we see that You have power to heal our physical ailments and You have power over life and death.

Jairus comes to plead with You to visit his home and heal his daughter who is dying. He believes that if You lay Your hands on her she will live.

We also have an unnamed woman in the crowd who was afflicted by bleeding for twelve years She too believes that all she needs to do is get close enough and touch just Your cloak, she would be healed. She thought she could do so unnoticed by You because of the great crowd of people pressing around You. When she did, You were instantly aware of her touch, for You knew that it was the touch of faith and power had been released from You to her. You wanted to commend her faith; this is why You asked her to identify herself. You knew who touched You but You wanted her to know that You knew. You also want the world to know that we too, like her must approach You with expectant faith. She not only receive physical healing but You also blessed her with peace. She went home twice blessed.

When messengers arrive to inform Jairus to trouble You no more as his daughter had died You looked at the heartbroken father and said, "Do not be afraid, just have faith." This is what You say to each of us today. We need never be afraid if we have faith no matter how hopeless the situation may look. Those who believe in You will always experience the miraculous. Faith in You, even as small as a mustard seed, has the power to move You to work powerfully on our behalf. And in the most hopeless of situations, You will take us by the hand and say to us, 'Arise'. And You will provide all we need in body, soul, and spirit for as long as we live in this life and in the life to come.
