Isaiah 26:1-6, Psalm 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27A,
Matthew 7:21, 24-27
Isaiah 26:1-6
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
You have grafted us who are baptized into Your Body. You have defeated the Enemy. No harm will come to those who are Yours for You have won victory over the death, sin, and the powers of darkness. All who believe in You are saved. You give peace to those who are called by Your Name. Those who place all their hope and trust in You will never be disappointed or put to shame.
You are worthy of all our trust. You are the Rock on which is built the firm foundation of the Church which stands forever. There is one thing that the people of God must always remember and that is that God will rout the proud and the haughty of spirit will be laid low by those who are meek and humble of heart, those who are poor in spirit.
Psalm 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27A
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Grant me the grace to bless Your Name all the days of my life. Grant me the grace to lift my heart, mind, and soul to You in praise and thanksgiving for You are great, You are good, and Your mercy endures to the end of time and beyond.
Thank You, Father, for giving us a Savior in whom we can place all our hope and our trust. Those who place their trust in humans will always be disappointed. Thank You for being our Rock, our Refuge, our Hiding Place where all who seek You will find shelter.
You are the Gate of Heaven, in You, we place our hope for justice and mercy. I thank You Beloved for hearing and answering all my prayers perhaps not always in the way that I have directed You too but in the way that You desire. Your answers to my prayers are always better than anything that I have desired, asked for, and not received because You had a better answer for me.
Thank You for every grace and blessing that You have showered on me and those I love. You are my life and my light keep me and those I love safe in You until You take us safely home to heaven. Amen.
Matthew 7:21, 24-27
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Thank You for reminding me today that unless I have a genuine relationship with You I cannot expect a place in the Kingdom of God. The key to heaven is to embrace the will of the Father in all the circumstances of my life even those that are painful and difficult. You have warned us that the Way is narrow and hard and few choose it but those who do are assured of beholding the Face of God.
You have revealed God's will for us. You have revealed what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. You have revealed how we can establish that Kingdom in our hearts and in the world. Those who do will build their lives on the Rock upon which the Church stands and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
It is up to us to build on Truth or on lies - either way, we will either stand or be ruined by the choices we make. We can be blown away by the winds of a worldly culture and the shifting sands of popular fads and fashions, or we can build our house on the solid Word of God which is found in fullness in the Church built on the Rock of Peter.
