Isaiah 11:1-10
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
The prophet Isaiah speaks of the coming of the Light into the world to dispel the darkness of sin and strive forever. One from among God's people will be chosen to bring forth the Son of God and on Him shall rest the salvation of the whole world.
You came into the world my Beloved, as one of us. A little baby conceived as we all are in the wombs of our mothers. You became vulnerable, dependant on human creatures that were created when God uttered the Word. That same Word was clothed in human flesh in order to redeem a fallen world.
You struck at the root of evil and destroyed it. You brought peace into our world. We have hope because You brought it into the world. You are our peace, our joy, and our salvation.
We long for Your coming again in glory when all the prophecies concerning You will be fulfilled. While we wait, keep us awake like the 5 wise virgins with our lamps trimmed and filled with oil so when You come we can accompany You to the Banquet Feast.
Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 12-13, 17
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
We live in an age where sin is rampant and death is everywhere but we know that You have triumphed over both sin and death.
You came into the world to bring justice and peace and they remain Your enduring gifts to those who believe. Thank You for establishing Your Church among us and for appointing shepherds to watch over Your flock. Watch over us Beloved for the wolves circle Your faithful, roaring lions roam the world to devour those who have been sealed in the Blood of the Lamb.
Pity us, Lord, for we are weak and stay by our side so we are not tempted beyond our ability to stand the test.
Thank You, Father, for sending Your Son into the world. Thank You Holy Spirit who refreshes us and helps us to live holy lives, thank You Beloved for becoming Food and Drink for us in order to sustain us on the way to the Kingdom of God.
Luke 10:21-24
My Love, Beloved of my soul,
Teach me to rejoice in the Holy Spirit as You did for He is Your Gift to me. Through Him, we receive the understanding of all things spiritual that are hidden to the worldly wise but are revealed to those with childlike hearts.
You came into the world to show us the Way to the Father, it is a narrow and difficult road and You have taught us how to embrace the difficulties and trials that come our way. The Way to Heaven is the Way of the Cross. The Father did not spare You the Cross and we ought not to ask that it be taken away from us but for the grace and strength to carry our daily cross cheerfully.
Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus into the world. Thank You, Beloved, for revealing the Father's love to us and for reuniting us to the Father. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for being our Paraclete, our Helper, and our Guide. Thank You for the glorious destiny that awaits all who have placed their faith, hope, and trust in You. Amen.
