Acts 16:1-10, Psalm 100:1B, 2-4, & 5, John 15:18-21

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

If then you were raised with Christ,
seek what is above,
where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Col 3:1

Acts 16:1-10, Psalm 100:1B, 2-4, & 5, John 15:18-21

Acts 16:1-10

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

If we throw ourselves in complete confidence and trust under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit we can be certain that we will not put one foot astray. Paul trusted the Holy Spirit implicitly and did nothing before seeking His guidance. He was sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit just as we ought to be.

We now hear of Timothy who joins the group. He is regarded highly by those who know him and so they have no hesitation in including this young Greek to join them in their travels to preach the Good News. He would be an asset to them and more importantly, Paul wanted him to accompany them. So it must be with us Beloved, we must be known in the community of believers as one who is strong in the faith. Our brothers and sisters must be able to trust us to assist them in the spreading of God's Kingdom on earth.

We also see that Paul is sensitive to the feelings of the Jews and so he has Timothy circumcised since everyone knew his mother was a Jew and his father Greek. We too ought to be sensitive to the culture of the area where we may be and not ride roughshod over people's sensibilities. Wherever they went they handed down the decisions made by the early Magisterium and so it is to this day and so it will be till You return again.

If we truly entrust ourselves and our mission to the Holy Spirit we can be certain that He will reveal to us the plan of God and will ensure that we are able to do exactly as He desires.

Thank You, Beloved, for this awesome and powerful gift of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 100:1B, 2-4, & 5

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

An authentic Christian is one who always has a song in their heart, praise on their lips, and Your joy will be evident in all that they say and do. Their service is rendered with humility and cheerfully.

The reason why we must be joyful is because we know that we belong to You. We are Yours, the sheep of Your flock. It is You who leads us to pasture and gives us food and drink to strengthen and nourish us. Grant us the grace always Beloved to tell everyone we encounter how good You are and how faithful in caring for those whom You have chosen to be Your own in time and in eternity.

John 15:18-21

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

If we do not understand that we can expect no less from the world that treated You so cruelly and rejected You so completely and shamelessly, then we will always be morose and depressed. But once we grasp the truth of what You say to us in today's Gospel passage that the servant is not greater than the Master then we will be glad to be counted worthy to be treated as You were.

It would seem that the world has never been so polarized, so divided, so vastly far out in both directions that finding common ground seems impossible. Truth is diluted and the world is drowning in political correctness. Feelings trump all good and common sense and the world does not accept suffering as coming from the hand of a Father who knows that in this fallen world, suffering is necessary if we are to grow in wisdom. Suffering is the Father's way of pruning us in order that we bear good fruit, fruit that will last.

Thank You, Father, for revealing Your Face and Your unfathomable love to us in the image of Your Son, our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You Beloved for the help we receive through Your Holy Spirit to understand and live the Gospel in truth and in love.
