Acts 18:9-18, Psalm 47:2-7, John 16:20-23

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Christ had to suffer and to rise from the dead,
and so enter into his glory. Lk 24:46, 26

Acts 18:9-18, Psalm 47:2-7, John 16:20-23

Acts 18:9-18

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

We see from the life of Paul that we too, like him, must always be docile to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. It is a virtue we can cultivate with Your help. This is the reason why You sent Him to us. Paul and all Christians who dedicate their lives to spreading the Good News have relied on Him completely and so must we.

I may not have visions Beloved, but I must be familiar with Your Word, I must surround myself with people who are faith-filled and prayerful who can be trusted to speak the truth and to give wise counsel. There will always be mischief makers who want to stir up discord in order to promote hatred and division but we must bear in mind that this is the work of Satan. We can be sure that we are doing Your work if we are persecuted and are called to suffer. We can trust You always to take care of us and we can be certain that You will rescue us when we are surrounded by enemies of the Good News.

The important thing is to remain faithful to our call and to trust You always.

Psalm 47:2-7

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

The God I serve is an awesome God. We will soon be celebrating the feast of Ascension. We celebrate the triumphant return to Your Father's house after completing the work for which He sent You into the world. You conquered sin and death. You crushed the head of Lucifer and You have become the gate by which all who believe will gain entry into the New Jerusalem. You reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lord over all the earth, all the heavens, and over all that is.

Thank You for the mission that You have given to every Christian. Thank You for the Helper who makes it possible to enable us to draw more and more people into the knowledge of Truth and to believe in You. We rejoice with the heavens and with the whole universe at what our God has accomplished through You our Savior, our Bridegroom, our Lord and our God.

John 16:20-23

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

I believe, I hope, and I place all my hope and my trust in You. I love You.

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn,
while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived;
but when she has given birth to a child,
she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy
that a child has been born into the world.
So you also are now in anguish.
But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice,
and no one will take your joy away from you.
On that day you will not question me about anything.
Amen, amen, I say to you,

whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you."
