1 Thessalonians 5:1-6, 9-11

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

When Paul speaks of death coming like a thief in the night, he repeats the warning in the same words that You had earlier spoken to Your disciples and followers. It is clear that he had spoken to the Apostles and was familiar with all You said, taught, and did. He also reminds us that we are children of the light, who are adopted and made heirs of the Father through His only Son. You are the Light of the World, the heavens are illumined by You and You shine more brightly than a hundred suns. We belong to the Light that dispels the darkness of sin and the fear of death. In You a new day has dawned and we who have received Your Light through Baptism are destined to share Your glory. We are called to spread Your light which is granted to us to draw others too from the darkness that they too may share what God desires all His children to have - salvation through His Son, You who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit now and forever.

Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

I have a glorious destination because You have saved me. I have no cause to fear for You are my refuge, my hiding place, my deliverer. You open Your hands and You feed me with all that is good, holy, desirable, and perfect. All I ask my Lord is that You may never permit me to be separated from You. Grant me a little place in Your Sacred Heart and there may I enter and hide in the immensity of Your love. To know You and to love You is the greatest gift that has been granted to me simply because God called me through no merit of mine but because He is my Father and my God.  I thank You for the privilege of coming before You, gazing at Your loveliness face to face and adoring You. Someday I shall see with my eyes what faith now perceives. While I wait grant me the fullness of Your Holy Spirit that I may walk with courage choosing always the will of God which I desire to be food and drink to me just as it was to You. But I am Your poor little nothing and need You to help me from moment to moment all the days of my life. Stay with me Lord.

Luke 4:31-37

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

2000 years ago You came into the world in obedience to the Father's will. You were incarnate of the Virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit and You became Man. You were like us in all things save sin. You came into the world to reveal to us that God is love and that He desires to restore all we had lost through the sin of our first parents, through You the new Adam who would take away the sins of the world. You taught with authority unlike the teachers of the law, the Scribes and the Pharisees and the people were amazed, they had never heard anyone preach and teach as You did. And signs and wonders You performed convinced them that You were from God. You even had power over evil, You subdued the dark spirits with a word and they cowed down before You and obeyed Your command.

As Your disciples sent by You we too are equipped to do all that You did and even greater things because You have assured us that You are with the Father and have sent Your Spirit upon us to help us. Grant O Lord that I may allow Your Spirit complete control over me always so I may do and say only that which He inspires me too and draw many to the light of truth that they too may be saved. You came for sinners not for the righteous. Thank You for saving me.
