DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Isaiah 26:1-6, Psalm 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27a, Matthew 7:21, 24-27

Isaiah 26:1-6

My Beloved, the whole Book of Isaiah pulsates with life and expectation, longing and hope.  We are called to fix our gaze beyond the reality of what is to the glory of that which is to come.  Every prophecy speaks of the beginning of something new, extraordinary, never seen or heard of before.  God will come to dwell among His people in a way beyond human imagining. God will intervene in human history, He will tear the veil that made it impossible for us to approach God.  He will enter the world taking on a Body of flesh from a Virgin.  He will become like us in all things save sin and He will draw us all to Himself.  He will be our Fortress, our Deliverer, our Rock, He will be our Peace.  No longer will we be trapped, enslaved and bound by sin.  No more fear of death and terror of the dark.  God Himself will become Emmanuel and break every barrier that separates the children from their Father God.  He will draw us into Himself and in Him we will become one with the Father through His Holy Spirit.

Psalm 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27a

My Beloved, from the moment of man's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden our Father who loves us would not permit His poor creatures to be lost forever.  The God of love who created us in love and whose love is eternal did not hesitate to send His only Son into the world to become the Gate through which all who enter will be saved.  God Himself came into the world to rescue us from the jaws of death.

No cry for help will go unanswered.  You have rescued Your people, You have saved us from death, delivered us from evil, the Father has given us Your Name,in calling upon Your Name which is above all names, we are saved.  You are the Light that shines upon us and darkness will never again overtake us.  Alleluia, Alleluia, AMEN!

Matthew 7:21, 24-27

My Beloved, we cannot put on an outward garb of piety and make believe that we are saved by our exterior show of holiness.  We cannot fool God.  Only in accepting the will of God in every area of our life, every day, moment by moment, surrendering our own will to joyfully embrace His, no matter what it may be or cost, is to truly know peace and to be imbued with it.

When we build on You who are our Rock, our Cornerstone and sure Foundation, the powers of darkness cannot destroy us no matter how relentlessly they try.  Life may be difficult and we may have to face endless struggle daily, but if we remain firmly rooted in You, evil cannot triumph over us.  Thank You Beloved for this assurance to us.
