REVELATIONS 7:2-4, 9-14, 1 JOHN 3:1-3, PSALM 24:1-6, MATTHEW 5:1-12

REVELATIONS 7:2-4, 9-14

My Beloved, the earth as we know it will pass away.  There will be a new heaven and a new earth.  Between then and now my Lord those who are sealed in the Holy Spirit through the waters of Baptism and are confirmed and strengthened in Him, those who eat the Flesh and drink the Blood of the Son of Man have a mission to accomplish.  We are commissioned to bring the Good News of salvation to everyone we encounter in the span of our lives and with the vocation God has called us to.  These are to fulfill the plan of God so on that day the number of those who believe will be too numerous to count.  They will come from every part of the earth and from all nations.  And those who will be clothed in brilliant white will be those who died shedding their blood for You and for the Gospel and You, in turn, bathe them in Your most precious Blood and make their wedding garments a dazzling white.

 JOHN 3:1-3

My Beloved, at the Transfiguration You revealed Your glory to Peter, James, and John. Now John tells us that God our Creator calls us His children and this we truly are because we are baptized into His Son.  St.John says that we do not know what we shall be like in heaven, but he was given a little glimpse at the transfiguration when He witnessed for a brief moment Your glory and he tells us that we shall be like You because we will share Your glory.  This is the hope of all who believe.  This is the hope that will give us the desire to live lives of purity for only the pure in heart can and will see God.

PSALM 24:1-6

All created things belong to the Creator who created them for His glory.  After He created the world He did not just sit back and forget His creation but was and is actively involved in every aspect of His creation.  His loving and watchful eyes are always upon us.  he created us for a purpose.  He has a plan that will bring about our happiness in this world and will reach its fullness in the next.  We sinned, we fell, we lost forever what was to be our inheritance.  So God our Father, who is all tenderness and loving compassion gives us another chance.  He sent You to ascend the Hill of Calvary and there He asked You to offer Him a Sacrifice in expiation for our sins for only You my Beloved have clean hands and a pure heart.

MATTHEW 5:1-12

My Beloved, here is a blueprint for anyone who desires to live for God and to be always pleasing to Him.  Here is a blueprint for joyous living no matter what the circumstances of our life may be.  Ever since You preached this most powerful sermon on the mount there are people too numerous to count who have lived these beatitudes faithfully who are living then and now and will continue to do so You till You come to claim Your own.  We will never know their names, those saints who lived holy, hidden live, these are the saints the Church celebrated today with a feast in their honor may they, in turn, pray for us as we commemorate them today.
