Luke 20:27-38

2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14,

My Beloved, all we have received comes from You and no one can take anything away from us unless You ordain it; in order to grant a greater good.  In the face of persecution, help us to remember that the troubles of this world last only for a time but the reward we receive is eternal life in union with You.

2 Thessalonians 2:16--3:5,

My Beloved, God our loving Father gives us true hope and this hope makes us strong to face whatever challenges we are called to endure.  Your love is everlasting and this knowledge helps us to walk steadfastly in the Word that dwells in our heart and encourages us to choose the Way that leads to Life.  To be steadfast and not bow to every whim of culture, fancy, fad, fashion or passing trend.  The Word is the Rock, steadfast, certain, sure, strong and unshakeable.  The mission continues to be the same.  We pray for each other and live the Word and preach it by the witness of our lives so the Father is glorified in You always and everywhere.

We trust in the promises of God because He is faithful, His mighty protection is like a mantle over those who love Him. Obedience to the Church You founded and established is obedience to You.  Your Spirit will help us to become the people God desires us to be.

Psalm 17:1, 5-6, 15

My Beloved, my hope is in You, my life is Yours.  You hold my yesterday, today and tomorrow and I know that the end of my life on earth will bring me to You and will unite me to You for all eternity.

Luke 20:27-38

There will always be those like the Sadducees and the Pharisees who want to trick us hoping we will stumble and fall or be stumped for an answer when we proclaim Your Word and preach the Good News of Salvation.  But just as no one got the better of You since You saw through their devious plans and insincerity, so You will grant us the same wisdom and give us words that will startle our enemies and silence them.
