DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS:

FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Mama, the Church calls you the New Eve and rightly so.

The first question in Scripture that God addresses to man is, "Where are you?" God is always in search of us.

God created you as He created the first Eve, free from original sin and full of grace. When she chose to believe the devil rather than obey God's command, He did not abandon His creatures.  Rather, He chose and fashioned you to become the New Eve, the Mother of His Son. You grew in grace and goodness hidden from view until, in the fullness of time, God sent the Angel Gabriel to seek and find you.  Where are you, the one I have chosen, My fairest of fair daughters who will be the most chaste spouse of the Holy Spirit and privileged by our power to conceive and bear God who is Emmanuel, in your womb?

He took the sour, extremely discordant note that our first mother Eve struck when she gave into the wiles of the Enemy who lured her with half truths.  She fell and took Adam with her as well.

The New Eve allows herself to be used by God so that He could take that harsh, discordant note, as Venerable Fulton Sheen said and made it the first note to the most wonderful symphony of joy and harmony.  When You said, 'Yes,' and God's Eternal Word descended in the most sublime humility to become Incarnate in your womb.

We rejoice because the God for whom nothing is impossible took the perfect sacrifice offered by His Son and gave You the provilege of being the first fruit of the redemption He won for us on the Cross.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for your children who choose in filial love to have recourse to you.  God will refuse you nothing when you take our prayers and petitions to Him.  May we too sweet Mother refuse you nothing.

Psalm 98:1-4,

All God's specially chosen and anointed have come from Israel beginning with Abraham our father in faith, Moses who gave us the law, Mary who gave us our Messiah, and the FRUIT OF HER WOMB, God Himself who desired to come into the world through His Handmaid in Israel.

The mission that the Good News reach the farthest ends of the earth is fulfilled and though many may reject You Beloved, they have certainly heard of You

Those who believe and accept will offer up to God unceasing praise from the rising of the sun to its setting in joyful acknowledgement of what You have done for us.

My Beloved, Mary and Joseph were betrothed and they must have had many plans for their life, plans that did not inlcude anything as extraordinary as her being chosen by God to be Your Mother, and St. Joseph as Your foster father.  But once the Angel Gabriel made known to her God's plan for her life, once she knew what God wanted of her even though she did not comprehend fully what it would involve, she said, "Yes."  She did not say that she had to consult Joseph before she gave her response.  Once she knew what it was God asked of her there was only one response that she, who was wholly possessed by God could make and that was a simple, resounding, unequivocal, YES.  Here I am am Lord, Your handmaid.  Do with me exactly as You will.
