2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12, Psalm 123:1-2, Mark 12:18-27

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS: 2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12, Psalm 123:1-2, Mark 12:18-27

2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12

My Beloved, our call to holiness and to spread the Good News boldly in the strength of the Spirit comes from God.  Often we live life so caught up with the business of the world that we forget that we have been created in love for a life of eternal joy in union with the Trinity.  Our life here is but a preparation for the life to come yet we live as if this life is all there is.  We live in darkness and so often it is a choice we make because we are afraid that if we gave You control of our lives we would be called to make sacrifices that our beyond our ability.

How foolish!  Once we give the control of our lives to You only then can we become all that God created us to be as we allow the Holy Spirit to mold us in Your image.

Psalm 123:1-2

My Beloved, this is a prayer I make to Your Mama and mine everyday.  This is what I pray, "Just as the eyes of the servant  are on her mistress please keep the gaze of your little handmaiden on you my mama, in order that you may direct my way and will in the way and will of your Son.  Amen."

Mark 12:18-27

Truly Beloved so often we are caught in the grip of the carnal that we forget that we are created for a more glorious future.  The flesh will serve nothing once this life is over.  It will decay and turn to dust.  It is the soul that will live eternally united with its Creator.  In the Presence of the Divine we will reflect His glory.  We will inherit the Kingdom and will be co-heirs with You who redeemed and ransomed us.

The constant indulgence of the flesh dulls the spirit and we become preoccupied with looking for more crass ways to awaken the deadening flesh to temporary pleasures while the spirit is rendered powerless.  Make me a light my Beloved, even if only a small one so that by its little light others may find You.
