Acts 14:19-28, Psalm 145:10-13, 21, John 14:27-31a

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS:  Acts 14:19-28, Psalm 145:10-13, 21,
                                                                    John 14:27-31a

Acts 14:19-28

M--- Mine, never ever put your trust in people and especially in people of influence, place all your hope and confidence in God alone and you will never be disappointed.  Men turn on men like savage beasts and often are worse than animals of prey.

As a disciple, you are called to strengthen each other, encourage one another, remain firm and steadfast in faith.  Be prepared to face rejection and persecution and to be ridiculed, belittled and scorned.  God promises His friends difficulties, crosses and sorrows in this life and perfect joy in the next.  Pray, fast and surrender everyone to the power of the Lord.  Pray especially for spiritual leaders and shepherds.  Witness and testify to all the marvels the Lord had done in your life always and render to Him the praise, honor, glory and worship that is due to Him alone.

John 14:27-31a

Peace, that most precious of all gifts.  Peace in the midst of calamity, peace in the centre of the storm, that is the peace You give Your own.  If my heart is united to Yours always then nothing will trouble me, nothing will disturb me for I will have the certainty that no matter what the circumstances, with You I am always victorious.  My body may be attacked but my soul is imperishable and it belongs to You.  As Your disciple, I know what to expect for Your Word is clear.  In this life those who love You and follow You can expect trials and tribulation but You have overcome the world.  You love the Father and obey all He commands, grant that I may love You and obey all You command.
