Isaiah 48:17-19, Matthew 11:16-19, Psalm 1-4, 6

Daily Mass Readings:  Isaiah 48:17-19, Matthew 11:16-19, Psalm 1-4, 6

Isaiah 48:17-19

My Beloved, My Master, my Teacher, my Friend.  It is You who lead us, teach us and guide us along the way of salvation that leads to holiness.  If we refuse to obey then we lose our peace and joy.  Our lives are arid, barren, devoid of all good.  Those who depend on us will wither and die for we have given them nothing to help them and they in turn will be lost.  Give us wisdom Lord so we us the time we have to know You and live by Your commands.

Matthew 11:16-19

Beloved, how often we are so ignorant and we make superficial judgments based on what is visible.  We are stubborn.  We do not want to change.  We close our ears to the truth.  We wish to ignore the Truth that became Incarnate, took flesh and broke that Flesh to feed us and poured His Blood to quench our thirst and give us eternal life.  We despise people without bothering to look beyond what meets the eye.  Help us Lord to love as You do.

Psalm 1-3

Blessed is the one
who does not go where the wicked gather,
or stand in the way of sinners,
or sit where the scoffers sit!
Instead, he finds delight in the law of the Lord
and meditates day and night
on his commandments.
He is like a tree beside a brook
producing its fruit in due season,
its leaves never withering.
Everything he does is a success.
