Deuteronomy 8:1-20

Daily Meditation:  Deuteronomy 8:1-20

Beloved, if I am to live, I must, obey Your commandment of love to God and neighbor.  You were not afraid to test me my Lord.  You put me through bitter tests in order that I might know myself better.  In passing through the agony of sorrow and loss You showed me how dependent I am on You and that having You, I have all things.  You tested me and through grace, I cling ever closer to You.

You made me hunger for You so You could feed and satisfy me, You made me thirst for You in order to draw me to the streams of life giving water that flows from You there I could quench my thirst.  You have created in me a desire for the daily Eucharistic encounter where You give me all I need and You satisfy me.  The time I spend with You every morning is a time where You feed me with Your Word, Your Living Word.  You walk me through the beauty, majesty and depths of Your love for me in Scripture.  You help me keep my spiritual garments clean from grave sin and you guide my steps so I do not stumble and fall into the pit of grave sin and destroy my soul.,

Yes, my Daddy God, as lovingly as the best of all fathers, You have taken me by the hand and taught me and during my most severe testing Your arms have been around me.  You have wiped away my tears.  While I moaned against You, You wrapped Your arms tightly and lovingly around me.

Beloved, if I follow You as my Guide and obey Your commandments, if I walk in Your way and worship and honor You, I will always be able to draw from the streams of life giving water which flow from Your side and I will be refreshed.  You will give me all I need my Beloved, all I need to do is will to be Yours and Yours alone now and forever.  I will lack nothing in You and with You no good thing will be ever be withheld from me.  What I need will be made available to me when I need it.  All I need to do is turn to You with all the love and confidence of a child.

At every Eucharist I eat and drink until I am satisfied.  Beloved, all that I now enjoy is because I cling to You.  May the night never come  upon me when I foolishly believe that all this is my own doing or that I deserve any of this or it is my right.  All is a gift from You freely given.  Keep me from a prideful heart it is the one thing that would be my downfall.  May I never forget to give You all the glory.  To You and to You alone may I render thanks, worship, adoration and all my love.

You  keep my heart from becoming proud, vain and foolish.  You keep me from committing grave sins that would kill Your life in me.  All I have my Beloved is Your gift to me.   May I remember You every waking moment and in my sleep may my spirit praise You.  keep me always in the shadow of Your wings O my Beloved, nestling close to Your  heart when I can hear its steady beat and exult in the joy of Your love.  Thank You.

____ Mine, ____ Mine, ____ Mine, remain in Me always and make Me happy.

Beloved Lord, I am Yours I want nothing more than to remain in You.  You make me delirious with joy.  I love You.
