Ruth 3:9, Deuteronomy 10:12-22, Matthew 17:22-27, Psalm 147:12-15, 19-20

Daily Meditation:  Ruth 3:9

Ruth 3:9
“Who are you?” he asked.
The answer came, “I am Ruth, your servant. Spread the corner of your cloak over me for you are a kinsman who has right of redemption over me.”

It is I my Beloved, Your own little one whom You have redeemed.  I am Your servant. Cover me my Lord, spread the mantle of Your protection over me as I lie at Your feet.  You are my Master, my Teacher, my Friend, my Beloved, my Spouse and I am Your poor little one who is dependent on You for every breath I breathe.  Close to You I am safe.  Possess me, I am all Yours in life and in death.  Amen.

Daily Mass Readings:  Deuteronomy 10:12-22, Matthew 17:22-27
                                        Psalm 147:12-15, 19-20

Deuteronomy 10:12-22

Beloved, all these verses are as relevant today as they were when they were first spoken.  We are the blessed ones for we have descended from Abraham.  He is our father in faith.  I am called to love God first with my whole heart, soul and being.  I must always obey His word and I  must love all for His sake.

If we fail to keep Your commandment of love to You and to our neighbor we will   have reason to be very frightened when You appear as Judge and You will judge all equally.  You cannot be bribed like earthly judges.

May I always remember how bountifully and mercifully You deal with me and may I render the same mercy to all whom I encounter.

Matthew 17:22-27

My Beloved, once again You speak of Your impending death and Your Resurrection.  But without the help of the Holy Spirit, they will quickly forget that You have foretold all these events.

The House of the Father, the Temple, is Your Home as well. You are not required to pay the temple tax as God's House is Yours too but the tax collectors did not know who You were, so You instructed Peter to go and hook a fish;  in the fish's mouth he would find the right amount required to pay the tax for both him and You.  Not only does this indicate Your solidarity with Peter but it also shows Your authority over all creation and creatures.  All are Yours to command and all will and must do as You bid.

Because I call You Brother, because I am a member of Your Body the Church, the same Church who is also Your Bride, the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to me too.  I am no longer a slave to sin but I am free in You my Savior.

Psalm 147:15
15 He sends his command to the earth
and swiftly runs his word.
