Numbers 21:8, Genesis 49:29-32; 50;15-26, Matthew 10:24-33, Psalm 105:1-4, 6-7

Daily Meditation:  Numbers 21:8

Numbers 21:8

and Yahweh said to him, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a standard; whoever has been bitten and then looks at it shall live.”

Abba Father, when Your  people sinned  Moses pleaded with You to save them.  You asked him to set a standard with a fiery serpent on it and You promised that all who looked at it would be saved.

You continue to save sinners through Your Beloved Son.  You set Him up on a Cross.  He became sin for our sake.  He took upon Himself our shame, sin, iniquity, in perfect obedience to Your will.  We are saved by the Blood of the Lamb who has conquered sin and death for us.  We offer You grateful hearts.

Daily Mass Readings: Genesis 49:29-32; 50;15-26, Matthew 10:24-33, Psalm 105:1-4, 6-7

Genesis 49:29-32; 50;15-26

I see You so powerfully in Joseph my Lord.  Like his brothers we too come to You and beg You to forgive us for the evil we have done You, wounding You with our sins.  We remind You that it was Your Father's will that we be saved through You.  Although we deserve death, we beg You to save us, we vow to be Your slaves and serve You.  You throw You arms around us and draw us to Your heart.  You forgive us even though we have killed You and nailed You to the Cross.  Through the Cross the the Father saves us and You my Beloved are glorified together with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  Thank You.

Matthew 10:24-33

My Beloved, we don't follow You blindly.  You have spelled out very clearly what lies before those who wish to follow You.  If they killed You, we too can expect nothing less, for a slave or a student must become like his master and teacher.  Our lives have to shine like a beacon on the world exposing it as we refuse to become bedfellows with evil and corruption.  We must stand tall for the Truth whose Name is none other than Your Most Holy Name - Jesus.

You will be with us through whatever persecution or torture may be inflicted on us.  You who look after the little sparrow have Your eye on Your own, who are members of Your Body.  Grant me the grace to acknowledge You always and every where so when the time comes the Father will welcome me home for Your sake Jesus.  Amen.

 Psalm 105:4

Look to the Lord and be strong; seek his face always.
