Exodus 12:5, 8, 13-14, Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30, Matthew 10:16-23, Psalm 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40

Daily Meditation:  Exodus 12:5, 8, 13-14,

Exodus 12:5, 8, 13-14

You will select a perfect lamb without blemish, a male born during the present year, taken from the sheep or goats.
That night you will eat the flesh roasted at the fire with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
13 The blood on your houses will be the sign that you are there. I will see the blood and pass over you; and you will escape the mortal plague when I strike Egypt.
14 This is a day you are to remember and celebrate in honor of the Lord. It is to be kept as a festival day for all generations forever.

My Beloved, the passover meal in the above verses is another powerful example of the fore shadowing of the Eucharist.  You are the Lamb without blemish sacrificed on Calvary with the bitter herbs of suffering both physical and spiritual.  You poured Your Blood as a libation for Your Church and the world.  We are preserved from being struck down by death which is eternal, by the blood that covers us.  Every Sunday we remember this day as a festival and memorial as we celebrate what You have done for us.

Daily Mass Readings:  Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30, Matthew 10:16-23,
                                       Psalm 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40

Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30

Beloved, when You call us to a mission, You do not abandon us but promise  to speak to us and to remain with us every step of the way.  You give us all we need to accomplish this mission, all we are required to do is offer You a humble heart and a willing, joyful spirit.  Grant me these Beloved so that I may always be pleasing to You.

Matthew 10:16-23

Beloved, as this alien ideology which is nothing short of evil spreads its tentacles trying to suffocate the world, Your voice is being silenced by those with flaccid underbellies who wish to consider nothing sacred.  Immoral, amoral lives are celebrated.  Your Name is being obliterated for it is now becoming a crime to use it in some places.  In this arena we are sent out as sheep among wolves and You ask us to be well armed with the double edged sword of Your Word and the armor of virtue provided by the Holy Spirit.  We will not be spared physical suffering for they have a barbaric ideology which seeks to inflict great and wanton pain. Grant us the courage to keep our gaze on You unflinchingly, aware that You continue to be in control always.  It is through persecution and standing steadfast that all nations will come to know and love You.

Psalm 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40

Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and live on it.
Make the Lord your delight, and he will grant your heart’s desire.
18 The Lord watches over the lives of the upright; forever will their inheritance abide.
19 They are not crushed in times of calamity; when famine strikes, they still are satisfied.
27 Do good and shun evil, so that you will live secure forever.
28 For the Lord loves justice and right, and never forsakes his faithful ones. The wicked instead will perish and their breed will be cut off.
39 The Lord is the salvation of the righteous; in time of distress, he is their refuge.
40 The Lord helps them, and rescues them from the oppressor; he saves them for they sought shelter in him.
