Daily Meditation: Isaiah 2:22
Isaiah 2:22
Rely not on man who has but a breath in his nostrils. What is he worth?
Beloved, I rely on You to breathe my next breath. Should You withhold it I will die. So it is with everyone else, we are all dependent on You no matter how rich or powerful we may be. May I put all my trust in You. May You be my only boast.
Daily Mass Readings: Genesis 32:23-33, Matthew 32-38,
Psalm 17:1-3, 6-8, 15
Genesis 32:23-33
verse 30 "I have seen the Face of God and survived."
Beloved, I see You daily face to face in the Adoration Chapel. I consume You in the Eucharist and I am assumed into You. Jacob, in his lifetime, did not experience You as I do. He was never as close to You as I am. Thank You.
Matthew 32-38
Beloved, when we do not acknowledge Your power as divine, it provides us with an excuse not to believe. We live in an age that reduces the Gospel narrative to fable rather than truth. The Gospels challenge us to change our lives radically. It makes the sinner uncomfortable and if he prefers to wallow in the muck and mire of sin then he will believe anything no matter how foolish, as long as he does not have to acknowledge that You are God and that Your power comes directly from being who You are the Second Person of the Divine Trinity.
Loosen my tongue, open my eyes, unblock my ears, heighten my senses in order that seeing, hearing and experiencing You I may open my mouth and sing Your praises all the days of my life. Amen!
Psalm 17:6-8, 15
6 I call on you, you will answer me, O God; incline your ear and hear my word.
7 For you do wonders for your faithful,
you save those fleeing from the enemy
as they seek refuge at your right hand.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;
under the shadow of your wings hide me.
15 As for me, righteous in your sight,
I shall see your face and, awakening,
gaze my fill on your likeness.
