Daily Meditation: Revelations 20:12-14
Revelations 20:12-14
12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before the throne while books were opened. Another book, the Book of Life, was also opened. Then the dead were judged according to the records of these books, that is, each one according to his works.13 The sea gave up the dead it had kept, as did death and the netherworld, so that all might be judged according to their works. 14 Then death and the netherworld were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death.
Beloved, the natural outcome of faith, hope and love is sacrifice and service. Our work for the glory of God by our service to men is pleasing to You. You have said, "Whatever You do to the least of my brothers You do it to me," and likewise whatever good we are remiss in doing to our brother and sisters likewise we fail to do it to You. You take all that we do to or for one another as done personally to You.
Forgive me for all the times I was indifferent, lazy, careless, timid or afraid to step out in faith and minister to those who needed my help.
Daily Mass Readings: Acts 1:1-11, Ephesians 1:17-23, Mathew 28:16-20,
Psalm 47:2-3, 6-9
Acts 1:1-11
Beloved, the Holy Spirit is the fulfillment of the Father's promise. He is given to every baptized Christian to equip him to live a life of faith, hope and love. Without these three God-given virtues, it would be difficult and impossible to motivate ourselves to work for the coming of Your Kingdom We cannot train ourselves in the other virtues if these three are lacking.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the earth.”
This verse reminds us that it is only with the help and grace received through the outpouring of he Spirit that we can work as effective witnesses of God's goodness and love. Pour out Your Spirit on me Beloved.
