Proverbs 17:6, Exodus 34:4-9, 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, John 3:16-18, Daniel 3:52-26

Daily Meditation:  Proverbs 17:6

Proverbs 17:6
6 The crown of the aged is their children’s children, the children’s glory is their father.

My Beloved, how true are these words.  We have  been blessed to have a daughter like the one You've given us and she has proved her worth during the time of her grandma's illness.  And yes, true is the second part of this proverb.  If children cannot be proud of their father, if he is not their glory, then it is truly a matter for dismay and sorrow.  I praise You my Beloved not only for my children but for my spouse too who is a father our children are proud of.

Daily Mass Readings:  Exodus 34:4-9, 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, John :16-18,
                                       Daniel 3:52-26
Exodus 34:4-9
My Beloved, You are a God of pity, mercy and loving kindness.  You have shown Yourself time and time again as a God of love.  Even in our distress, we can look at You with faith and confidence knowing that our Deliverer is ever at hand to raise us from the snare.  We worship You O holy God, we prostrate before You and we ask You to accept our praise and thanksgiving.  As we come to worship You each  morning in the celebration of the Eucharist, may our praise be pleasing to You.

2 Corinthians 13:11-13

Beloved, St. Paul exhorts us to be happy.  A cheerful Christian is a true Christian for he trusts in You and knows that You sustain him. Strive for perfection is an echo of what both You and St. Peter have said, we are called to have one mind and heart, that is, 'the mind of Christ' and we are called to live in peace.  St. Paul promises that the God of love and peace will be with us if we live in peace.

John 3:16-18
Beloved, John 3:16 is one of the most oft quoted texts in Sacred Scripture.  Here is a truth from the lips of the Son who knows the Father intimately because You and the Father are One.  The Father's love is so mind boggling He was prepared to sacrifice You in order that we could be saved and not only saved but to live eternally with You and Him.  Thank You for accepting the Father's will in love and laying down Your life in order that we may live the abundant life in You and in Your Spirit.
