Exodus 33:11, Acts 2:14, 22-33, 1 Peter 1:17-21, Luke 24:13-35, Psalm 16:1-2, 5, 7-8, 9-11

Daily Meditation:  Exodus 33:11

Exodus 33:11

Then the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his neighbor.

My Beloved, You remain with us in our tabernacles all over the world,.  You are exposed in the monstrance in Adoration Chapels everywhere so that the faithful can come to worship, adore and converse with You.  Here for a while, we speak face to face as Moses did.  You are here i n Your humanity and divinity.  It pleases You to be among men and You long for us to come and spend time with You.

Give us a greater awareness of this gift and a burning desire to avail ourselves of this blessing.  Grant that we take time often to stop by and speak with You whenever we are near.

Daily Mass Readings:  Acts 2:14, 22-33, 1 Peter 1:17-21, Luke 24:13-35, Psalm 16:1-2, 5, 7-8, 9-11

Acts 2:14, 22-33

verse 33
33 He has been exalted at God’s right side and the Father has entrusted the Holy Spirit to him; this Spirit he has just poured upon us as you now see and hear.

My Beloved, You are seated in glory at the Father's right hand after fulfilling to perfection His will, His plan of salvation.  The Father's great love for His creatures was made manifest in You.  It now pleases the Father to entrust the Holy Spirit to You as well and You generously share this great gift with us by pouring out this same Spirit on us as well.  Thank You.

1 Peter 1:17-21

St. Peter reminds us that we will be judged according to our deeds.  The natural outcome of faith is in living it out in the daily nitty gritty of our lives, in our love of God and neighbor.  The Blood of The Lamb frees us from our sins.  Grant my Beloved that I might put all my faith and hope in God who did not hesitate to send You as the perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin.  Take away all fear and fill my heart with love, trust and confidence.

Luke 24:13-35

vs 13 &15
13 . ,That same day, two of them were going to Emmaus, a village seven miles from Jerusalem, 15 While they were talking and wondering, Jesus came up and walked with them
My Beloved, You walked with the two disciples on the road going to Emmaus.  You walk with me too.  You are always beside me.  Your Holy Spirit lives in me and when I receive You in the Eucharist, we become one body and one spirit.

vs 29-35
29 .....“Stay with us, for night comes quickly. The day is now almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. 30 When they were at table, he took the bread, said a blessing, broke it and gave each a piece.
31 Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; but he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said to each other, “Were not our hearts filled with ardent yearning when he was talking to us on the road and explaining the Scriptures?”
33 They immediately set out and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and their companions gathered together. 34 They were greeted by these words: “Yes, it is true, the Lord is risen! He has appeared to Simon!” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the road and how Jesus made himself known when he broke bread with them.

I make You the same invitation as the disciples.  Stay with me Lord as the night approaches and the day of my life slowly comes to an end.  At every Eucharist may I recognize You at the breaking of the bread.  May I be strengthened by Your Body so that I may always be faithful in service.  May I experience a burning within me as I dwell on Your Word.  Set a fire blazing in my heart and may its light illumine me and those around me.  May there be a complete metanoia in my life with each encounter with You and may I return renewed and refreshed to work in Your vineyard with faith, love, courage and enthusiasm.  Amen.

Psalm 16:1-2, 8, 11
Keep me safe, O God,
for in you I take refuge.
I say to the Lord,
“You are my Lord, my only good.”
11 You will show me the path of life,
in your presence the fullness of joy,
at your right hand happiness forever.
