Proverbs 16:33, Hebrews 11:32-40, Mark 5:1-20, Psalm 31:20-24

The Lord tears down and He builds up.

You have done this often in my life.  You have destroyed the flimsy work of my hand and You have rebuilt with what cannot be destroyed and will stand firm forever.

Proverbs 16:33
Fate is thrown in the bag but the decision belongs to Yahweh.

Whatever is thrown at us by life, in Your hands is all turned to good and is profitable.  You grant wisdom to those who rely on You always, whose gaze is fixed on You and who are dependent on You to provide for their needs.  It is not a worldly wisdom but a divine wisdom.

Hebrews 11:32-40

These verses speak of the great faith of the prophets in the Old Testament.

Beloved, if we have faith in You, You will fulfill each of of Your promises.  In this world, Your people can expect trials, tribulations, persecution and suffering, loss of live and the lives of their loved ones, but in the end You will triumph and so will we in You.

Mark 5:1-20

In the Gospel of today we are told of the Gerasenes man possessed by a Legion of evil spirits.  When the people of that place were told of the miracle of the cure they wanted no part of You.

How frighteningly lonely is life without You.  How often we want no part of what we do not understand - even You my Beloved.  But the one who has had a personal encounter with You  will never want to  be parted from You.  The fruit of such an encounter must make us witnesses, telling all about the marvels God has done for us.

Psalm 31:20-24
23 I said in my fright: “I have been cut off from your sight!”
Yet when I was crying, you heard; when I called for mercy, you listened.

How wonderfully comforting is this verse and how true.
