TUESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF EASTERTIDE - 2025

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

The Son of Man must be lifted up
so that everyone who believes in him
may have eternal life. JN 3:15

ACTS 4:32-37

My Soul's Beloved,

The lives of the early Christians who lived in community with the Apostles show us that we can live in harmony with one another, without greed, without living selfishly, without hoarding and storing for ourselves with no concern for those in need. We are so afraid that if we share, we will not have enough for ourselves in the future. We lack faith that trusts in Your providence. We lack the faith to believe, even though You assure us that our heavenly Father, who clothes the flowers in the field and feeds the birds in the air, will most surely care for the crown of His creation. If only we did, Beloved, how different the world would be. Looking at us, the world would exclaim with admiration again, 'Look how these Christians love one another.'

Lord, You desire us to empty ourselves just as You did. The Apostles did as well,  they gave up everything for the sake of the Gospel, and You assured them as You assure us, that our reward will be great in this life and even more so in the next.

The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed for his own use anything that he had, as everything they owned was held in common.
The apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and they were all given great respect.
None of their members was ever in want, as all those who owned land or houses would sell them, and bring the money from them, to present it to the apostles; it was then distributed to any members who might be in need.

PSALM 92(93):1-2,5

The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed.

The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed;
the Lord has robed himself with might,
he has girded himself with power.

The world you made firm, not to be moved;
your throne has stood firm from of old.
From all eternity, O Lord, you are.

Truly your decrees are to be trusted.
Holiness is fitting to your house,
O Lord, until the end of time.

The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed.

JOHN 3:7-15
