God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son:
everyone who believes in him has eternal life. JN 3:16

2 SAMUEL 12:1-7,10-17 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

How easily David was moved to compassion and anger at a fictional story of how a poor man was robbed of his ewe whom he loved dearly and yet all the while he had acted without scruple in coveting and taking the wife of his loyal commander Uriah. Not only did he dishonor his friend but he plotted to deceive him and when that did not work he arranged to have him murdered.

Too often we are like David, we have blood-stained hands and filthy consciences but we are put on a facade of morality that deceives no one least of all You.

Our sins condemn us and we are often justly punished for our sins. Thank You, Beloved, that no matter how heinously we sin, You will forgive us when we are truly repentant.
