DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Your light must shine in the sight of men,
so that, seeing your good works,

2 CORINTHIANS 1:18-22 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

St. Paul tells us that You are the Yes and the Amen of God. All things in heaven and on earth find their fulfillment in You. If we possess You we possess all of heaven and earth. All who believe in You as the Father's Covenant of Love with us receive all that the infinite love of God has to give in all its beauty, variety, glory, marvel, perfection, and abounding joy.

God does not give us His love piecemeal, He gives Himself to us as totally as each Person in the Trinity gives to each other - Father, Son, and Spirit. You are God's eternal yes to all who believe. All may receive this Yes and Amen of God - for God's gift of You, His Son, is given to all but we must choose to receive what is offered so lovingly, and generously to us. 

 
Remember it is God himself who assures us all, and you, of our standing in Christ, and has anointed us, marking us with his seal and giving us the pledge, the Spirit, that we carry in our hearts.

My Soul's Beloved,

We can even now as we live here on earth already enjoy divine bliss if we choose to. The simple, the childlike, the pure in heart, walk with the angels. The sad truth is that the garish, gaudy, siren call of the world drowns out the gentle wooing of the Holy Spirit into intimacy with You.

The lives of great saints, of holy men, women, and even children of every age including our own, reveal the truth that it is possible to live lives of heroic virtue if we choose to. We must make an act of will every moment of every day to place Your will above our own and be guided by Your Word in all things. 

The more we walk in the Spirit the more will we yearn to do Your will and seek to please You in all things. More than ever we need the help that only Your Holy Spirit can give for we are constantly bombarded by the spirit of the world and are easily distracted and tempted to stray from the path of holiness and life. Stay with us, Lord. Abide with us and in us and keep us safe for eternal life with You. Amen.

My Soul's Beloved,

As Your disciples, we are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Every disciple must touch the lives of those around them with love, joy, and delight. The world must be a better place because we are in it. All that we say and do must reveal that we are imbued with the Truth of the Word only then can we be effective witnesses to Your love. 

As Your disciples we are called to be the light of the world - this light is given to us from the Sun of Justice and its purpose is to draw all people to the warmth of its glow. The light that shines from us not their own, it comes from You and this is why it has the power to transform the lives of those on whom it shines.

If we are barren like the fig tree that is full of green leaves but lacks fruit we are like salt that loses its savor and light hidden under a bushel. But when we cooperate with grace we become fruitful in every season and all who see us will give all praise, glory, and honor to our heavenly Father because Your Spirit abiding in us enables us to live lives of holiness and grace.
