THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED (ALL SOULS) - 2020

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. MT 25:34

WISDOM 3:1-9

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

The love of the Father created us, Your love saved and redeemed us, and the love of the Holy Spirit abides in us. We need fear nothing for we know at the core of our being this unchangeable truth, we were created in love for love in this life and to know it fully in the next. We know that we can safely entrust to Your loving care our own souls and the souls of all those we have loved deeply and have lost to death.

Purgatory is a welcome place for all faithful souls. Nothing unclean can enter God's presence and they themselves desire to be cleansed and purified fully before they are worthy to behold You face to face.

Those who trust in him shall understand truth,
and the faithful shall abide with him in love:
because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,
and his care is with his elect.

PSALM 23

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

You are our Good Shepherd, a Shepherd who will never lose a single sheep that belongs to Your fold. As we pass through the turbulent waters of this life You take us by the hand and lead us gently. You steady us when we stumble, You pick us up when we fall, You look for us when we stray. You carry us when we are hurt, wounded, afraid, or sick.

We have nothing to fear either for ourselves or the ones we have loved so well in this life. They have gone on before us to the place that God has prepared for them and us since He lay the foundations of the world.

We will not die Beloved, we will live, for You have given us a share in Your Resurrection. Thank You for this glorious hope.  Any purification after death is a welcome one for after a short while we will be granted entrance to Your glorious presence and behold You for all eternity.

ROMANS 6:3-9

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

Every child of God is baptized and grafted into Your Body. You plunged into our death in order that we might rise to new life in You. You drank the cup of suffering to its bitter dregs so we may not die but live. You took upon Yourself the chastisement that was ours. We deserved eternal death, but the God of love could not bear to lose that which He created in love.

You broke the chains that bound us to slavery, to the master of this world, to the flesh, and to the devil. The flesh and its desires corrupt and so You put it to death in Yourself in order to raise up an incorruptible Body that we, its members, could also share.

Thank You, Beloved, for forgiveness of sins in You. Thank You, Beloved, for new life in You. Thank You, Beloved for the hope we have of eternal life with You even if, for a short while, we have to face the tribulation of purgatory before we can share Your glory and remain with You forever.

JOHN 6:37-40

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

This is the truth uttered by Your own lips, these are Your words, Eternal Word of Truth and love,

“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

We believe in You, Beloved, and believing we are saved for eternal life. All glory to the Father, to You, His Son, and to the Holy Spirit in whom we shall live and reign just as God, our Father has willed eternally.
