MEMORIAL OF ST. PIUX X, POPE - 2020

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Teach me your paths, my God,
make me walk in your truth.
PS 25:4B, 5A

EZEKIEL 37:1-14

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

We need the Holy Spirit without Him living in us, animating us, breathing the Breath of Life in us, it would be impossible to please God. It is with His help that we are able to strive after holiness and perfection this is why You said, that it is to our advantage that You go away so You could send the Holy Spirit to us. You also said It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

God has the power through the life-giving breath of the Holy Spirit to raise the dead to life. This is why there is always hope for those we love who have distanced themselves from You and from a life of grace. You lay down Your life so all may be saved. Let us never cease praying for those we love who have abandoned the faith that the breath of the Holy Spirit enters them and they come to life once again and be saved.

PSALM 107:2-9

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

We are redeemed by Your precious Blood. You have snatched us from the jaws of death and have given us life through Your Holy Spirit. This is why we must praise You, adore, You, glorify You, worship You, and speak about You, for as long as we have breath in our body.

There will be times, Beloved, when, because the flesh is weak, we will stray from the path of life and lose ourselves in the desert where there is neither food nor drink. But we are the sheep of Your flock. You always come in search of the lost and You will not cease searching until You find and save the sinner. Thank You that You are only a prayer away, a sigh away, a thought away. We have only to call on Your Name when we are in distress and You will make haste to rescue us and strengthen us on the true food and drink that gives life.

MATTHEW 22:34-40

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

The Pharisees had heard that You had silenced the Sadducees by cleverly refuting their argument on the resurrection of the dead. You also pointed out that they neither knew Scripture nor did they know the power of God. Now they approach You with a question concerning the greatest commandment of the Law, hoping they would be more successful in tripping You up than the Sadducees.

They could find no fault You in Your perfect response, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets also.’

If only every child of God obeyed these two commandments concerning the Law of love we would hasten the coming of the Kingdom of God among us. We would hasten the hour of Your Second Coming.
